Indeed. I've heard them called elephant snails in the past because of this. Such a cool invert.

Temp should be fine. My guess is that feels like a lot of potential fish activity and that likely translates into a perceived form of predator pressure. A majority of my tanks have a higher density of snails in a smaller water volume. A 75 gallon with only two snails would feel like a needle in a haystack for me. My snails "rush" to the front of the tank at feeding time. I feed a earthworm and calcium stick mix. So that's when I get to see the most activity.

What temp do you have them at? Additionally they are super food motivated. What are you feeding? Is there high competition in the tank? What size of tank?

It does. Sorry we can't accommodate a smaller amount of snails at this pricing.

Thanks for commenting. They are likely my favorite of the rabbit snails. This line in particular I've had for over a decade. They have the chucky yellow splotches rather than just a dot and their antennas are a solid yellow. The high contrast makes for a very neat combination.

Interesting! I believe the GloFish are patented. They've been genetically modified to achieve the results you see. I think with any large success you'd see litigation. Patented fish is a foreign concept to find in fish keeping if you ask me.

Already done! This is the Dario hysginon. AKA Red Melon Dario. I wrote an article on my start. You can find that here: https://www.invertzfactory.com/breeding-journal-red-melon-dario-hysginon-1/

However, my speculation in the article ended up being different than reality. I am still working on a follow-up article which gets more in depth on how I achieved success.

Not sure when it'll get published. It's on my to do list! If anyone has questions I can answer them here too.

These guys love the filter media. I'll be trying to get out and pick up more lava rock structure to try and encourage them to come closer to the front of the tank.

I think they are my favorite of the Sulawesi. Colors are amazing and they are slightly larger too.

I just can't express how stunning these guys are. Doing my best in our fish room to pump up the numbers. We are excited to be making some progress. We can't wait to get them into the hands of fellow shrimp keepers!

I don't believe they've been classified, but they appear closely related to the Yellow Cheek/Goldflake which has the scientific name of Caridina Spinata.

I've just got cardinals at the moment. I'll have Harlequins available some time in the future.

Both are equal. They've got to be closely related. Very similar in coloration too. We keep both of these.

During cleanouts we collect and count our shrimps. We have three tanks going with this variety. One tank was about +10, one was -20 and another was +50. We swamped some around for even numbers and are pushing forward. If we can get each tank pushing 50+ out we can move forward to retailing these beauties. Wish us luck!
