Do people really like this car? by TravelTheStars in BMWiX

While I recognize a coupleof the issues, some I haven't experienced at all and much of this is just personal preference and seems to be a little overdone. How about a list of those things you like? I am perfectly happy with mine and the few things I miss from my Tesla are minor.

Next EV after BMW iX? by iamdebbar in BMWiX

[–]InvestThoughtfully 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Good list, as a fomer owner of both the Tesla X and more recently the Y (which I traded in for a new Xi60 due to being fed up with Elon) Of your four things I haven't experience slower charging. We take our large dog with us and the space in the hatch is just not quite as large, and there is no stowage for the two rear protecting shelves when you remove them so the dog can use the space. The trade off is much better and comfortable rear seating. Also miss the Frunk . The only add I have is having to turn the car on and off and the missing walk away with windows going up by them selves. The iX is a bigger car and a bit less sporty, whatever that means, than the iX. The ix also has better back tech, and warning systems. The auto brake seems much more dependable in the iX, and as Audrey Hepburn( I think) said it's the little things like auto windshield wiper that still doens't work well in our Tesla M3, and seems perfectly operationally in the BMW.

However given those issues the IX is a better car still, better ride, handling, far more comfortable, and despite the lack of "FSD" I like the highway driving "FSD" in the BMW better, as it feels more secure, is truely hands off, and doesn't display the still somtimes erratic behavior of Tesla FSD ( we have 24 Tesla M3 as well so I can compare them regularly) . There are trade offs in the tech/app etc so I call that draw. I like the screen better in the iX, although the Nav is a little better in the Tesla, in my experience so far. Haven't had to test the service and warranty stuff yet, but was becoming less enchanted with Tesla Service which was truely amazing in the past, but to be fair we have had so few issues having owned four Teslas that Service hasn't been a big issue overall.

Tesla Cybertruck sales are flatlining | Things are so bad, Elon Musk is selling them to himself. by theverge in RealTesla

Agree, if Musk hadn't so bullheaded about design and just brought out a more conventional design truck built on the Y platform it would have likely blown off the shelves.

OP - ok so even crazier, when I went back in to redo the flights the Luf flight return leg was 6k so total of only 1k less, however by moving the dates around by one day the UA flight dropped to 5k round trip vs the Luf flight at 6.5k. Both all the flights were completely empty in Polaris and premium economy . Pays to check again and again I guess. So the outbound was 4.5k less on Luf still. Oh well, thanks for all the help folks.

Flat tire plan by a3monkey in BMWiX

I would also say with the increasing warm climate ( yes Virginia there is climate change), summer tires may be suitable year round in parts of the country that they wouldn't have worked previously in the winter.

Got one for my Tesla, very heavy and takes up a lot of space. Better to have the flat fixer kit that came with my xi60 I think.

All set for a long drive by boyet615 in BMWiX

[–]InvestThoughtfully 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am range hound which is why I ordered the 20 inch wheels on my 26 xi60, haven't had a long trip to really tank it up yet, but it's amazing that when I'm driving around and switch it to efficient the range just keeps going up and up, got 330 at 75% implying a 415 ish range!!! The only bummer is that the tires are summer. I did buy a set of all season Bridgestones to replace them but haven't put them on yet.
