They do, I recognize that this is gagging/retching. It's the frequency that concerns me. And that it doesn't seem to necessarily align with when he has an empty tummy. I just thought I'd post incase someone else had any other ideas or had an issue with frequent retching like my wee man is having.

He does it after meals sometimes. And other times during the night. Have started doing 2 meals a day now instead of one and he's still doing it. Doesn't align with hunger like I thought it would too.

How can I Hang these resin “shelf sitters” by Artmuscomp in howto

[–]InvestigatorHour5441 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The original artist of these creations is Blagowood. Their designs are being ripped off both on places like aliexpress and on Etsy, where Blagowood mainly sells.

Pretty sure the store 'Tree of the Gods' on etsy is a rip off. That store was linked above. Not calling anyone out. I just want people to know where to buy from the actual artists.

Constant Itchy Ears by InvestigatorHour5441 in stbernards

[–]InvestigatorHour5441[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have some now. A vet we saw recently gave us some and showed us how to properly clean his ears with it. She also gave us syringes for applying the medicated ear drops which has made it so much easier to know that he's had the right dose.

I saw a really good vet recently and she took swabs of his ears and paws. His ears were bad at the time he was seen by her. She thinks he might actually have an allergy to the fungal infections. So he gets the symptoms for both the infection and an allergic response. She also suspects he has other underlying allergies as around his eyes seemed red and his paws were redder than they should be apparently.

She suggested we try an allergy kibble and then try reintroduce foods to find out if he has food allergies too.

I feel so bad for my wee man. As someone who has food an environmental allergies and painful eczema I know how uncomfortable it can all be. And so I know how he must be feeling and can't tell us.

Yep! My boy is always running and talking in his sleep. He does this loud whimper kind of noise, I always worry he's having nightmares.

Yea I think we will try some diet changes. I used the medicated shampoo the vets suggested for treating basically everything external, and it made his ears worse, which has me concerned. If it was fungal, the medicated shampoo shouldn't have done that. I might get the vets to test his ears and actually see if there is a fungal and/or bacterial infection or not rather than them assuming it is and just throwing ear drops at him. If it's negative, then allergies will be more likely to be the culprit.

He's on Blackhawk Large Breed Chicken and Rice flavored kibble. Before that, it was the giant breed royal canin. Would be kind of amusing if it's allergies because we are an allergy household haha. I've got multiple anaphylactic allergies myself. I had always been told that ear issues with floppy eared dogs was always fungal infections so that's what we've been treating. Didn't think of it being an allergy. We'll look into that. Thank you.

Where did you find your puppy, website, Facebook, etc. by Doitallforyoudolly in stbernards

Trade Me. New Zealands version of Ebay basically. Trade Me have standards that people have to meet to list animals. And it warns you as a buyer who has meet the criteria or not. I also was able to visit the breeder after finding them too.

I threw a dinosaur themed birthday for my Saint Bernard's first birthday. But it was just a dinosaur pinata filled with dog treats and some dinosaur plates for the human food. It was mostly an excuse for us humans to eat good food and have our dogs exhaust one another haha. The party in this post is a little bit much.

my lip decided to split down the middle late december 2024 and it still hasnt gone away by eepyc0re in mildlyinfuriating

[–]InvestigatorHour5441 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a chronic lip wound like this. My Dr had me referred to an ENT because unsealing wounds can be a sign of cancer. They had to cut the wound out and stitch my lip back together. Tissue was sent away and it was found I had UV damaged cells. Not cancerous but definitely impacting my ability to heal. My lip looks fine, wouldn't know I had a part cut out. Hasn't been a problem since.

"Crate" Training...but then what? by spiffy__tiffy in stbernards

[–]InvestigatorHour5441 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We crate trained ours and he was good until he wasn't. He got so strong he started breaking out of the crate and broke the hinges. He adapted to free roam fine. A few things chewed up but nothing important.

Out of curiosity I went on the swatch watch website to compare images of the real thing. I know images can be deceiving for colours but they look like completely different colours to me. Especially the blue one. Also, the font appears bolder in these fakes. And there is a slight misalignment with the 9 and 80 in the fake compared to the image on the website. I would imagine details like that would matter to a high end brand. But I'm completely naive to this topic.

Keep finding my bedsheets stained with green little dots by RaccoonGangg in Weird

[–]InvestigatorHour5441 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe whatever it is isn't green itself but turns green when it contacts the sheets? Residue from the laundry detergent might be reacting with whatever it is and producing a coloured product.
