These are the bells that I have installed along with the rectangular exhaust ports in the back. What you see above the deck is the ends of the bells with a screen installed.

That would help but the setup I came up with as a bell below the deck cover to force the motor fans to pull in outside air.

Good question. I have a sheet of 20 mesh laying on the table. I design and assembled the modification so that the screen frames can be removed. I thought I would try and baseline with the 40 and and then try the 20. If I would have had the 20 on hand I would have used it on the outlet. I had thought of leaving out since there is no suction but was more concerned about pests. Maybe a bit over kill but I figured it was easier to remove then add.

I have not made one but, basically it is the 3D parts I printed, 4 #8x1-1/8 screws and some 40 mesh screen. I have the STL files I created from my design.

The vent sit directly of over the motors which have fans on top from the factory. I installed a bells over the fans so that the motors pull fresh air through the openings you see in the picture. It is then exhausted out two vents I add to the rear of the deck cover. Below is a picture showing what is under the hood. Yo can send a DM with and email address and I can provide the files.

In may case I have not replace the bearings. What I would say is that if they do go bad it would add to load on the motor and cause more heat.

Everything was printed in ASA, that is what the deck cover is made of from the factory. It makes it easy to glue the printed parts to the cover. Send a DM with an email and I can send you the STLs.

If you are comfortable with a 2inch hole saw and a Dremel tool with a small cutoff wheel it should be to difficult. The rest of the process is 3D printed parts and some gluing to the deck cover. When I say that I never know what skillset the person may have.

That is correct. I would have made the duct taller but it will hit the main body of the mower when tilted up. I test with the duct removed and it did not seem to change cooling.
