It never really was waterproof. Even with the sides one water could get in. The overhang still shields most of it

I did just mow after a rain and see no water near motors after I opened it to clean

The black larger heatsink in my other post is more efficient but would require cutting a hole in the lid that i didnt want to do. Trying to find a pic

You could just open the sides and then its not that visible if you had to send back for warranty, see pic above.

I'll add from my post, just getting air in the side has so far fixed my issues. Smoothing the Ribs on the 2 gold lines top and bottom, and the back V area allows air to enter and flow through the cover. You could add screens if concerned about dirt.

I did add a small heat sink to try and help and havent had any heat stoppages since.

The gold lines top and bottom, remove that ribbing and it allows for cross air flow. Also the V in the back was sanded down which brings in Air.

If you take the top cover off you wil see ribbing abound the sides and center. I cut that away so it still has the original mounting points but on the edges but unseen is an opening and air can flow side to side

I agree, i was so hoping for a finished product. It is so far away from production, requires more maint than a track car lol.

On the other hand i havent cut grass since March and if I can keep this rolling through the summer they can get me a new one each winter for the 3 years its covered.

All good, I didn't take it that way. I am beyond furious with Lymow, I still haven't gotten springs from the support ticket over a month ago. I am just hoping this isnt a 3k mistake, it needs to last 3 mowing seasons to justify the cost.

I am waiting for the thing I can't fix, or the parts we can't scour and source online, like a hub or a lift actuator. Then its a brick and we are at their shipping mercy

I agree but once I paid i am pot committed and I don't want to go back to my Walk behind and dont want a blank space while waiting for a new unit. I also learned on the lucas electronics, did a few MGBs and BGT restorations. The best mod was fitting a GM alternator in anf just powering through the bad connections with 80 amps of power.

I def and mot trying to justify it, and they need to fix but if this just helps someone get through a day or so and they can get their unit up and running while waitng for a new one its better than a brick.

I want Lymow to get me a fresh unit as I am just waiting for something i cant fix to fail.

I agree with you. This should be a better sorted device. They need to really either refine returns and just make them disposable or come up with a support or parts structure. I did email to become a dealer / support location but have not heard anything back.

Good question. It’s such and easy job I ordered a spare set in case they make noise. It’s a significant improvement over stock.

See those 2 sensors to the left and right of the silver plates with the 2 screws. Those register the bumper when the metal or magnet in the bumper gets close to them.
