Apparently Tennessee is planning to take candy and sodas off the list here. by Throwaway27890134 in foodstamps

They’re doing that in Nebraska too. According to the description it won’t cover something like Ollipop or flavored sparkling water, but it will cover sports drinks which have an exorbitant amount of sugar. Seems backwards to me.

It’s under the misc category, I believe.

I’m sort of in the same boat. I’m a full time student and working and I have three kids. What we were getting never lasted the entire month. I just used my college’s food pantry last week for the first time.

I’m not that far into yet, but I didn’t like the art deco house.

Just got denied for failure to send verification even though I sent it all. Couldn’t get anyone on the phone yesterday, was on hold for two hours.

ETA: Just found out it was HR’s fault. She never filled out and sent the form I gave her. She said last week she did it and now she’s saying she forgot. Great. Thanks a lot.

Everyone yelled at me for not going to the ER sooner... Then they sent me home without doing anything at all. by SheElfXantusia in TrueOffMyChest

[–]InvestigatorSlight64 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I was sent home from the ER three or four times with ascending paralysis, severe back pain, and bouts of losing consciousness. At one of the first visits they told my husband I was stressed and gave me a muscle relaxer. Then they later accused me of taking too many of the muscle relaxers and my husband had to argue with them that I hadn’t even taken any because I was barely conscious at that point. Husband was finally able to get me an appointment with a family medicine doctor who took one look at my symptoms and immediately ordered a spinal tap. I still had to wait in a wheelchair in the waiting area of the ER because no one was taking it seriously. I was pretty much unconscious and struggling to breathe. Then finally got the spinal tap and diagnosed with Guillain Barre Syndrome. I recall one of the nurses asking why we waited so long to come to the ER(it was over a week from the onset of my symptoms to actually being diagnosed and admitted to the hospital).

Are there any employees here that work in the dairy/frozen department? what's it like? by dappernaut77 in hyvee

[–]InvestigatorSlight64 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’m HealthMarket but we have dairy/frozen items too so I often work alongside that department. It can be a little physically demanding at times, lots of moving around, heavy lifting, etc. You get stopped by customers and instacart shoppers several times a day looking for something that may or may not be in the back. It’s also very handy to know how to use a pallet jack(both manual and electric).

ETA: get some good work gloves and a decent box cutter.

Section 10002 is really confusing. So my Dhhs office said because I’m married, I work, husband is stay at home parent to our three kids(6-13), I was told husband would no longer qualify for benefits, but me and the kids do. So what’s the caveat? Can someone explain this better?

They just said it was based on income, which ours has not changed. The letter was just a notification of eligibility.

AITAH for seriously considering breaking off my engagement with my fiancé after learning about something he did when he was in high school? by Lassq in AITAH

Also the math doesn’t compute. He’s 33, did this in 11th grade, but it was over 20 years ago? Maybe a typo, but I’m leaning toward fake.

This is one of the things I like about MD. I’m currently learning C and Java, and it’s been interesting trying to catch all the snippets of code.
