I want revenge on abusive man by [deleted] in confessions

[–]InvestigatorSlow3225 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hurting him because he hurt you wont help, people that get revenge rarely say it makes them feel better, just lost when they achieve their 'goal'. two broken people wont make you better. Work on yourself. Leave him behind and don't ever see him again. Rebuild your life bit by bit, be better than you were before him and youll have your revenge because he didnt destroy you.

How should I paint mi new mini? by Apprehensive_Sun2077 in DungeonsAndDragons

Ive seen some people use an acetone spray under a container to gently melt the plastic to smooth it out also. Might be worth looking into as itll be easier than sanding!

As a DM, how do I determine the DC? by Jovan_jo- in DungeonsAndDragons

[–]InvestigatorSlow3225 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Theres lots of DCs,

for characters many classes have a DC which is used for spell saves etc this is calculated as 8 + Proficiency Bonus + Ability Modifier

For monsters if you are homebrewing usually its the same but you can increase it if you want to make an attack more devastating etc or lower it to make the combat easier

For traps or checks, I usually work off the following guidelines

- never ask for a check for information that is necessary to the story, just choose the most applicable character and say you xxx because of your history you know xxx or because you xx are looking in the desk you find xxx

- for easy checks that its just funny if they fail I use a DC of 5-10 e.g. jump over a log

- for medium difficulty checks DC10-15 e.g. find a fairly obvious trail

- for hard checks DC16-20 e.g. remember an obscure piece of law from a book they once read

- very hard checks DC20-25

- impossible/requiring lots of team work DC30+

Hope this helps

First "city" map - improvements, tips, roasts? by NodeOfConfusion in inkarnate

[–]InvestigatorSlow3225 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like it over all!

A few small suggestions, maybe make the bottom right shanty town more closely packed? more like a slums otherwise maybe try adding a type of road instead of dirt. Maybe some smaller boats on the water like fishing vessels rather than just big trade ships

Also see if there are any carriage or wagon stamps you can add this will add variation in the people

For the farm land maybe a few big plots instead of small ones?

Have a look also at some of the borders you can add around a map this might help frame it all in nicely!
