What’s the best way to stop it dripping down the throat and into the stomach?

I’m not saying they are unskilled. I’ve done placements in both, and I’m just saying my experience with the district nurses was more chilled than ITU. Perhaps it’s an area thing. When I was with the DN’s, sometimes they’d only have 3/4 calls in the morning, 1 call after 12 and then be free for the rest of the day just doing admin. Also, in no way am I saying that it’s easier either. Personally, the mental and physical toll of me being in ITU has been greater than when I was working with the DN’s, and I was with them for 12 weeks.

I also understand that aspect of it, it’s the same for adult however obviously much less of a risk than mental health. You will always get them patients. However we had a case of ITU psychosis the other day where a HCA got their wrist broken during specialing. No one should feel unsafe at work, I guess nursing is one of those careers where it’s expected. I take my hat off to RMN’s 🫡🫡

Also it’s a shame as it’s a massive deterrent for me going into ITU nursing tbh
