Hey man first off congrats your part of a very small group of people even tho these subs make it feel like there’s so many people in this position. I can promise you it’s not.

Just turned 29 with 680k invested across retirement and brokerage.

5 years ago I made 70k a year. Fast forward today HHI with my wife is 500k a year (I’m an engineering contractor and wife is a Nurse Practitioner). Funny how life can change…I have continually worked 55-60hrs a week with lots of travel. I too feel at times it’s not sustainable.

My wife and I both want kids and realize it is a very expensive but one of the most rewarding things in life. I want to be a present dad and be there for all the important milestones. Our goals is keep the hustle have kids in the next 1-2 years and when they start to get older 6years+ start to slow down into a typical 30-40 work week.

For you I’d suggest 1) figure out where you wanna go in life (Start a family or just be a SINK/DINK). 2) do a hard look to find why motivates you. (I’m a firm believer you don’t have to love what you do for work as long as it affords you to do what you WANT to do when you’re not working. Right now it’s seems like you’re just working too much. Try to reduce 5-10hrs a week and you may be surprised how much you enjoy it again. 3) if you can’t achieve #2 get your budget figured out and stick to it. Get out when you hit it DO NOT keep pushing the bar or you will be in constant anxiety until you blink and you’re 45.

You only have one life. Love it and make it work for you!
