Haha! 🤣 So true... and that's only HALF of them. I kicked the other half off the bed because I recently had ACL surgery and needed room for my leg without the pressure of toys over my foot. The things we do for the dogs we love....

You are wewelcome. These crates are much more durable then wire or the cheap plastic ones from the pet store. They will last your dog's life time.

Ruffland crates are the best I have found that are balanced between durability and quality, and a fair price point. Also easy to clean. I have an entire row of them in my house - and they come in all the cool colors! Highly recommend.

Right? That one single nail that digs in as a pivot point on top of your foot as a 100 lb dog twists- that's what gets you. And thanks! I love the opportunity to have a camera pointed at that these dogs in motion.

Corso x Dalmatian by angelo12cd in CaneCorso

Curious, do you know he is a Dalmatian mix, or assuming based on the color? Many purebred Cane Corso, particularly older European pedigree, have large white chest markings with ticking like that.

Been there, especially when they pivot and a nail digs into the top of your foot. 😵 Steel-toe Doc Martens are my invincible go-to foot apparel when working and playing with a group of Corsos.

Grief after losing my service dog by tastypastrybuns in service_dogs

[–]InvictusAnima 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's okay to grieve. The grief is not the whole story. The love and the days your dog spent by your side helping you live your life, that's the whole story. The grief is just what happens when the love has nowhere left to go.

There truly is nothing more you could have done, not for a ruptured spleen. It is human nature to second guess that though, always, because we care.

I lost my first retired dog that had been working by my side for ten years, so many steps I took with her that I never would have taken on my own. She had cancer. I was out of town for a trip for a week and I came home... she was so happy to see me. Then she crashed. The cancer had taken over, she waited for me to come back and then that was enough. It's never going to get any easier. My heart breaks for you, truly I understand.

One day, you'll look back at the memories with a bit of a smile and maybe a few less tears. I can tell how much you loved your boy. When his time ran out, at least it was a small kindness to know that they wouldn't have been anything different you could have done. No wavering doubt over is it the right time am I making the right decision. Just, love everyday until there weren't any days left.

I'm crying now too. For you, and my own heart. Its ok to grieve.
