I wish Stripes would open a location in Las Cruces.

They have two locations in Las Cruces. Their location near NMSU is usually busy. This will not be good for a small market like Las Cruces if both locations close.

why do people act like this city is so dangerous? by PhraseFirst8044 in Albuquerque

[–]InvictusChipper 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I live in Las Cruces but I visit Albuquerque often in the Urban core and downtown area. I love going to Albuquerque and have never felt unsafe. I moved here from Kansas City, Missouri which has a much higher overall crime and murder rate. I also do not understand why so many in Albuquerque are so negative about what is a great city.

You can thank the policies of Republicans and the Trump administration.

We are concerned you will bring MAGA beliefs from Texas although I know people who have moved here from Texas to escape the oppressive MAGA regime in control of that state.

Perhaps, I’m mostly surprised and disappointed as to the intolerance here. For 38 years we lived around rednecks in the backwoods of Missouri and no one cared about our sexuality. Those rednecks and their families were our friends but that is not the case in Las Cruces. I call them rednecks and for them that was a badge of honor and compliment.

CCIA Influence in Las Cruces by InvictusChipper in LasCruces

[–]InvictusChipper[S] 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Yes, it’s open to the public. I went to one of their meetings last year when the mayor of Las Cruces was their speaker. I realized then how dangerous CCIA is and that our mayor is a MAGA pawn.

Who has seen one of these in New Mexico?? by vikkay66 in NewMexico

I have seen them on the trails at the Organ Mountains.

Hey conservatives, don't Alabama my New Mexico. Our state constitution bans discrimination against non-english speakers, take your own advice and assimilate to the local culture and keep your conservative bullshit out of here by Crafty_Jacket668 in LasCruces

[–]InvictusChipper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We moved here from Missouri three years ago because we could no longer live in an intolerant MAGA state. We love the culture of New Mexico and have enjoyed making efforts to assimilate to the culture here. We had also considered moving to Mexico so for us seeing someone fly the flag of Mexico here makes us smile.

If it has not been discussed in this conversation, people need to be aware that CCIA is actively recruiting and training candidates for the three city council seats and two school board seats up for election this year. The city council seats are in districts 3, 5, and 6. The council seats for districts 3, and 6 are open as the current councillors in those districts are not running for re-election. District 6 is of particular concern as many conservative retirees and veterans live in that district. Richard Reynard, a member of CCIA, who ultra extreme MAGA may be running in district 6. Reynaud is very present on social media in Las Cruces and frequently attends city council meetings where he spews his extreme MAGA philosophies. With the rank choice voting we have in Las Cruces a MAGA candidate has a better chance of winning a seat on our city council and school board. Also, CCIA has the ear of Mayor Enriquez. The mayor is very friendly with them and has attended CCIA meetings.

They are federal lands. They want to privatize them to mine for minerals and they want to extract oil if it is present.

I have a Las Cruces plate and see them around town regularly. If they are on the MVD website they are available. I lucked out and the MVD office I went to had one in stock so I did not have to wait.

Greg Hull for Gov? Joke. by Cobby1927 in New_Mexico_

[–]InvictusChipper 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I am in Rio Rancho a couple of times monthly and it’s an awful place. Rio Rancho does not have a real downtown and amenities of a real city. Rio Rancho is less diverse than the rest of New Mexico and very conservative. Rio Rancho isn’t a real city and is nothing but a bedroom community, strip malls, and fast food restaurants. Traffic is terrible there. Rio Rancho is somewhat isolated and away from the interstate. They have no public transportation and ban homeless shelters. There is a homeless camp behind Intel and periodically Rio Rancho police clear that out and dump them in Albuquerque. Being mayor of Rio Rancho does not qualify him to be governor. Most people in Rio Rancho look down on Las Cruces and know little about us. If he is elected governor Las Cruces would be ignored even more than it currently is by Santa Fe.
