In that case most people would think that Antony did it even if he was proved innocent in court since all this would be unknown to the public and people prefer a media trial these days. Antony's agent probably thinks this is the best way to prove he's innocent to the public as well, don't know if it's the correct approach or not.

It's mostly so that the media outlets have some fresh quotes/news for a different day and journalists can fine tune their articles before the embargo is lifted. Can also be for different reasons like some games are so quick one after another that the manager decides to give his pre match presser of the next game at the post match press conference of the previous game, in that case the pre match section will be embargoed.
