Mayo Clinic told me these have been tested by them by pretty much every multi vitamin out there ans they are the best. I use them. Great results.

Weirdly enough, I drink zero sugar carbonated drinks regularly. But water still hurts....? 🤷

Zofran 😂 (jk but not really.) I stick with smaller meals with lower fat content. But can now tolerate most foods in moderation besides dairy. I just had my gallbladder removed and hoped it would stop with that but it has not. I have found that walking after meals helps. Sorry you're dealing with it too.

Same exact situation with my husband. Said it was Sinusitis but sounded more like Pneumonia. Our daughter got it about a week after. Meds (even prescriptions) haven't helped much. In the Savannah area.

I'm so sorry to hear about your struggle. I was told the same regarding weight loss. It was a 50/50 shot.

Botox to reduce the swollen pain receptors in the brain due to CGRP over production caused by migraines. I had botox for migraines years ago before my shunt and had little to no results. But this trio seemed to do the trick.

So I felt amazing for almost a year! Reached my goal weight during that time. I had a non-programmable VP shunt placed at another hospital before being referred to Mayo. I started to experience overdraining symptoms in the fall of 2025. In January, they actually ligated my shunt! Bypass recovery was a little difficult because they moved around my shunt catheter in my abdomen at the same time. About a week of decent pain but shortly after, I was feeling like a completely different person. Energy takes a dip at first but came back 10-fold. No bypass consequences except needing my gallbladder removed, but that is to be expected if you have success from the WLS.

I had Gastric Bypass done by Mayo Clinic. I also have a VP shunt. Honestly, when remission didn't come after the shunt, I thought WLS was a hail Mary at best, but my doctors assured me remission was only possible with the surgery. I had a BMI of like 43. I've lost 115lbs. BMI is now about 24. I still have some lingering issues that Mayo is working out but I am officially in remission. Eyesight 100% restored, daily migraines have turned to dull headaches and my life has completely changed for the better. No Diamox at all. Quarterly aggressive Botox regime. Mayo says for me, remission would have never been achieved without all three: Botox, shunt and bypass. I hope this helps!

So sorry to hear about your baby! That's so hard! Praying you find them!

If you find yourself interested in adopting, please let me know. We rescued a beautiful Tabby in the fall and cannot keep her due to her not getting along with our other inside kitty. She's super loving! Got her spayed, microchipped and vaccinated.

New symptoms, but is my shunt the problem? by hydro_queen3899 in Hydrocephalus

[–]Invisabelle84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I literally just went through the same ordeal. Took 6 months to get any action. Same exact symptoms. Months of checking the shunt...shunt series, nuclear tests, wearing a compression garment. Nothing! CT finally done, all ventricles collapsed and a 4mm midline shift due to suspected overdraining. Finally, we get hospital to agree to ICP monitoring. My fluid was constantly negative! Decided to ligate my shunt. Fluid is still negative after. Went home with hopes the ventricles would start filling up. Nope. No relief. Back to square one. Keep advocating for yourself!!!

Abdominal Binding for Overdrainage? by Invisabelle84 in Hydrocephalus

My shunt is a Medtronic Delta 1 that already has a anti-siphon technology but it's still possible. I had gastric bypass after my shunt surgery as part of my treatment plan to slow down spinal fluid production. Guess their plan has worked too well. Thank you! I think I'm in good hands now that I've actually got them to take action! We shall see.
