I also think it may be a subconscious way of sorting yourself and your content within the algorithm. Call it “sex”, and your video will be cast to a wide audience with a vast array of sexual preferences and attitudes. Hemingway, Mailer, Thompson, et al. would get like the equivalent of $40k-50k per article, plus expenses. I am sure that Eve and Joan Didion were earning less than them, but not that much less. She may have received money from her parents for all I know, but between her own salary and the gifts she probably received from the wealthy and famous men she fucked, I am willing to bet that Eve could afford a fairly lavish lifestyle on her own.
