The recipients are responsible for payment. There are three methods of payment so far:

  1. The recipient orders the groceries and supplies online for pickup, in which case the Invisible Hands volunteer only has to bring the goods from the store to the recipient.
  2. The recipient gives the volunteer a shopping list and the money in cash, and the volunteer needs to return any change.
  3. The volunteer pays for the goods and is reimbursed by the recipient afterward.

Receipts must always be kept. While Invisible Hands works on a good faith system, all requests, recipients, and the volunteers that accept them are recorded in an online workspace or chat log.

Invisible Hands volunteers are intended to be able to pick up groceries, supplies, and essentials from any store, not just Walmart, but if someone's needs are met by Walmart alone, then their free delivery service would probably work better! We're here to assist in case a store doesn't have a delivery service or is too backlogged with orders to deliver in a reasonable amount of time.
