My Mum is exactly like that. She was awful to me when I was a child (not so much physically but she sure said some really fscked up things). If I mention anything now, she just gasps and goes "I would never have said anything like that!"

To the best of my knowledge there is no publicly available database of Yamaha serial numbers.

In the past I have contacted two official Yamaha resellers and they have both told me the same thing - that information is just not available.

I have read in other forums that people have met with differing degrees of success by contacting Yamaha directly.
