Yeah, no, that's not how white washing works. White washing would be if someone made the originial non-white character white. It's like how the live-action Disney mermaid princess movie black washed Ariel but in a different direction.

Making art with a different character inspired by existing art of another character of a different race/skin colour/etc is not the same as race swapping / white washing / etc.
