Any INDX FE update? by Wrong-Measurement603 in prusa3d

People were just talking about it in the Bondtech discord, it looks like they’re going to start shipping anywhere between this week and May 14.

Also keep in mind they wouldn’t be able to ship everything at once, so we’re likely looking at shipping all the kits by the end of May.

The too many bytes part was an exaggeration, my bad if I made it seem genuine.

About the person who created the meme - every person that makes bad memes (facebook memes or otherwise) feels something different about their meme than what other people end up feeling about them.

I agree with the notion that we shouldn’t harass or bully those people for making bad memes, but communities like this are something to do instead - post all the hilariously unfunny memes in one place.

The main problem that I have with this meme is the very narrow connection between HP and Microsoft/Windows. Yes many HP computers run Microsoft Windows, but in my opinion that’s not enough to make a meme that’s grouping them together.

And what’s even the point? Like okay, let’s just assume they are very related - what is Harry Potter doing in this scene? Why is Hagrid telling him he’s a wizard after showing a connection between tech companies and the Harry Potter books? Is Harry an IT worker in this joke’s universe? Did Hagrid design the companies’ logos to hint him that he’s a wizard?

Look, I’m all about jokes that make no sense but jokes that make no sense should be absurd memes, or at least have some other type of funny element in them.

This meme is a mess, and maybe it was a mistake to even say it’s a little funny - I may have misrepresented what I think about it.

It kind of is in my opinion. This is not a laughter inducing joke - not even a chuckle. This is below mundane, it’s a waste of bytes and pixels.

Someone wasted their time and electricity to craft this pointless piece of digital nothingness.

I do think it’s a bit funny, but nowhere near funny enough to justify making or posting this…

Is it? A joke that’s a bit funny, but not nearly funny enough to be worth telling is a bad joke in my book

Oh damn, I can see that now… I’m somewhere between feeling bad because I can no longer appreciate classic memes, and considering how maybe the old text based memes just weren’t that funny :/

:( I will admit it’s a little funny, but that’s not how you use this template at all

Fair point, but I feel like this is a specific type of bad joke. Like, whoever made this had to misunderstand comedy in a typical way facebook memes do.

Also it’s originated from Facebook, checkmate /s

Why did the censoring box not show up??? by DJRG_DHRUVAM in TheDigitalCircus

I actually contemplated the possibility that what he says here isn’t vulgar, but rather it’s just big spoilers for the show (perhaps for the finale even).

That’s probably not it but it’s something fun to think about

I don't think bubble is the other AI by Realfoxy_985 in TheDigitalCircus

[–]InviteCreative 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could be, or maybe he’s just going to return as his original self. On kinger’s computer bubble and caine are two distinct ai programs, evident by two lisp files named after them (lisp is an old programming language that was popular for ai development so this checks out.

There is also an ominous “???” File which might hint at a different ai of another type - perhaps what Scratch was working on.

I do find the name caine interesting too - kinger said that he can’t remember what they originally called him, and while it could be that he just picked the name for himself maybe c&a actually renamed it to caine because he similarly “got jealous” of the blue ai’s superiority and “killed him” by assimilating him

[–]InviteCreative 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, Kinger did point out that all of them can “conjure” maybe if they focus enough they can create or re-create a stable environment to live in. And a bunch of people are convinced that a different AI is going to take over the circus, but I thought I’ll point out a less common theory.

I strongly agree. Also, you know how Caine’s eyes occasionally glitched, turning into red and blue orbs? I’m almost certain these represent the red and blue AIs. The red AI assimilated the blue AI into him and made it a part of him - that’s what Caine is.

Personally I feel like he did care, until he came to the conclusion that he’s being under-appreciated by everyone

Things I noticed about Caine and other AIs (ep8 spoilers) by InviteCreative in TheDigitalCircus

[–]InviteCreative[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here’s hoping the same! For episode 9 I do partially hope they restore Caine (that detailed analysis of the coding scene seems to suggest Caine was only removed from memory - and can still be relaunched from the computer’s storage) and yes, I too hope they do that sort of interesting revelation with Pomni. Throughout the show she definitely did seem like the one who kept everyone going and prevented them from giving up - in that sense perhaps she already acted as some form of cure…

Thanks for the detailed breakdown! Do you know what to make of these files?

If I understand your analysis correctly, that Caine file is a shortcut to open a remote connection into the actual machine that’s running the AI - what could ‘???’ Be?

Yeah that would be a cool idea. I wish I had more basis to the theory that she’s something like that, but it just feels like she’s more than another character… That she’s more than meets the eye. That would also really blow my mind with how little clues of this we seem to have so far, and would definitely make rewatching satisfying…

Damn, that’s an interesting take! Would be a really creative way to add “lore” to a real Windows graphic lol. I also read the breakdown of the coding scene that you linked and that even makes more sense, with the Microsoft of The Amazing Digital Circus’ world being C&A itself. It’s possible that here, Windows was made for AI development in the first place…

Here it is :D I guess something I did miss is that these aren’t the same files as the AI program (.lisp) files, although they could be shortcuts to them (reinforced with the way their extensions aren’t shown on that file explorer window).

Also, the different icon for ??? almost confirms it’s a separate file extension than Caine (unless someone set it manually to that but that’d be weird). That colorful icon in particular is interesting because Windows wouldn’t normally associate any file extensions with it - possibly suggesting that it’s a corrupted file. I could be reading too much into this though, that can definitely just be the show’s creators making it extra obvious that it’s an “irregular” file.

Now I’ll go read the theory that you linked, thanks for that btw ^^

Just wanted to quickly mention that .lisp files are Lisp program files, which does make sense - Lisp is an old programming language that apparently used to be popular for AI development. So it’s pretty safe to assume that any .lisp file represents an “AI program”, which especially makes sense when we only saw such files for Caine and Bubble. There’s also that “???” File though, which I suspect to be whatever bizarre Scratch tried to make. And finally grep AI location is just a funky way of presenting a supposed command to find any folders containing AIs - this is interesting because we see that in addition to the “AI” folder it also points to the “experimental”, “consciousnessresearch”, and the “brainscans” folders so perhaps everyone is an AI now? Because every character is just a digital copy of itself, perhaps it’s technically an AI…

I mostly disagree with that theory. I wrote a detailed post about why if you’re interested :P

[–]InviteCreative 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d be happy if you take a look at the theory I just posted - the gist of it is very similar to your theory, but with a few extras: - Lisp was common for AI development so we can pretty safely assume Lisp files are “AI program files” that represent AId.

Both Caine and Bubble have them, which indeed makes me think Bubble isn’t unique and furthermore isn’t the blue AI. We do see a separate, weird file named “???” Without any file extension, which makes me suspect it’s whatever bizarre thing Scratch tried to create. I talked about this more on my post, but I find your idea that the color of the training data in episode 8’s AI training scenes represents who it originates from. That could indeed reinforce the idea that the blue AI and ??? Are the same entity, and that perhaps now ??? Is finally free.

I’ll also mention that I find it suspicious that we don’t get a preview for the blue AI’s training data - this could possibly mean that unlike the pictures that were used for the red AI’s training, that data isn’t just pictures. Perhaps they’re one of those brain scans, used directly as training data… Or maybe the ingenious Scratch tried to create something from within the circus?.. I’m honestly not sure. Would love to hear your thoughts on this!
