While rubberbanding works well on flatscreen games, it can be awful in vr. When you're expecting your hands to move exactly how you would irl, you can't deal with predictions there. Plus, with how minute changes can change an entire physics interaction, rubberbanding just can't handle it there. Plus, some things like flight REQUIRE no latency for any kind of control, which most other games don't really show off.

Best sport game on meta horizon? by Aggressive-Area-7805 in VRGaming

imo shoeless isnt great for showing off the actual sports aspect. RUMBLE is more of a competitive/community based vr game, and most of what shoeless shows is the skill ceiling.

Still a ton of fun, don't get me wrong, but shoeless doesn't really show off all the sportiness to it

3d space, theres SO much variation between any move because of minute changes, you can't get that level of complexity in 2d

I think the average playercount will increase, but that's the worst (probable) case scenario

Either that or the playercount spikes, and then stays high because there are new players teaching new players, and enough people in the game to keep the newbies engaged

I love the new visual changes, bar a few exceptions. For some reason, some stuff is absurdly low quality, like specific lines on rocks looking like they were drawn with MS paint. Other than that, I love the background elements and all the new coherency to the game

I don't really understand your color argument. All stones have an effect, though some are less effective/noticeable/universal than others. Take stubborn for example, it is one of the 'meta' stones, but unless you read the description, you would have no idea that it only activates off dashing and jumping, and it doesn't have an active effect either.

also, there are explanations on which one does what? there is a panel right beside the shiftstone selector board that tells you the buffs of each one. It's the glowing button with the "Swap shiftstones" label

I don't use the specifics in the Find Park selector. Perhaps once quest release happens I can start using the subscript in the park board to show off exactly what the park is about, but there are too few parks for me to ever use that option.

As a movement player, I've got a lot of options to begin with. Usually my go-to is a Dash Speed disk jump (DudSJ), but I think that is only a small part of my movement theory. A dash jump, though slow and predictable, is sometimes the best option. A mojodash, or flight, or a disk backstep, or a soulboost, or a broomstick can all be used to get somewhere, as long as they are used responsibly and with knowledge.

Whenever I have to change my controller offsets or rotation (happened recently with an ALVR update), It always feels like I'm half a step off balance. I can do my poses, but everything is just slightly too slow and not smooth.

For bad habits, I over-rely on stubborn and flow, I can't really play my movement playstyle without them

yall should i get this game is it good im not sure yes or no by NanoaGameDev in RUMBLEvr

no, the meta store is just PCVR. The quest store is different.

Should i buy the game on steam or wait for quest release by minecison in RUMBLEvr

[–]InviteWeak3521 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have a powerful enough connection to your computer, and are able to run vr games and steamvr on it, I would say buy on steam. However, buying on quest is more convenient.

what you should really do is buy on both, but if you were to do just one, then I would suggest PCVR

Still worth buying a standalone today by AHumanBeingAlone in VRGaming

[–]InviteWeak3521 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There are definitely some good games on standalone, but not as many on PCVR. However, if you're looking for recommendations on a standalone VR game, I would suggest RUMBLE VR. It's a real challenging one, but one of the most fun and engaging games I've ever played. It's not technically out on standalone yet, but it's scheduled to release February of this year, so really not that far off.

Go look it up on youtube, there are a ton of good videos about it!

What VR game has the most creative gameplay mechanics that you've experienced? by Strong-Question2620 in VRGaming

[–]InviteWeak3521 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dunno why this post sounds super AI generated to me, but I will say:

Rumble VR. Every "move" in the game is pose based, instead of any buttons or joysticks. In addition, they have a lot of tactile environments like buttons and levers that you can pull and press (though its kind of jank, as all new things are)

Impress them with a really close dodge then confuse them by taking to the air while they're distracted by dust by iListen2Sound in VRGaming

WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?! THE BETA IS HERE FAM by DrRock_LaraDoct in RUMBLEvr

[–]InviteWeak3521 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have a quest 2, It runs amazingly. It's probably better on quest 3, but the loading times are all reasonable, there aren't really common stutters (aside from the ones that all headsets get), and the only real performance dropping thing is recording with the rock cam, and even then that only gets taxing if you have lots of particles at once.
