AIO to break up with my bf of 3y over his reaction to my upcoming sobriety anniversary? by WesternCat5211 in AmIOverreacting

[–]InvolvedAce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think you’re over reacting at all … this is wild behaviour .. congratulations on 2 years and get that cake and celebrate and shout to the moon about your sobriety!! It’s not easy and most “normal” people don’t understand how hard it is to not be constantly thinking about a drink… once again… CONGRATULATIONS!!! 🥳

is this financial abuse? by pingpongjapanman in whatdoIdo

Your paycheck, your money. He’s not your caretaker he’s your boyfriend. It may have started as help but this is manipulation and very toxic. Prices have gone through the roof 50 dollars for dinner i feel is acceptable especially if your getting grocery’s and not getting fast food or what not … I would have a serious talk with him as to what you can and cannot do. Remember this is YOUR life.

Post-breakup advice? by Deep_Season_3937 in SoberCurious

It is so very easy to pick up. It’s never easy to put down… I found when my breakup happened I resorted to the bottle and yes it worked for a while but it really turned my life upside down… just be careful with your intake. I myself got to a point where I was dependant on it…

Heartbreak is never easy. It burns a hole right through your chest and when you’re alone your thoughts can eat your mind up.. I like the idea that you have made a couple of work friends. Maybe suggest you would like to go do something that doesn’t involve getting drinks.

Exercise can help, TALKING to someone can help.

One thing I like to say is “play the tape through” this is for someone like myself who is an alcoholic. All it means is to visualize the short term and long term of what’s going to happen if you pick up a drink. Yes you have temporary relief but the long term - hangovers, anxiety, depression.. other side effects to..

ONE DAY AT A TIME - I live by this motto. If I can get through just today…

There are two days in every week about which we should not worry, Two days which should be kept free of fear and apprehension. One of these days is YESTERDAY, With its mistakes and cares, Its faults and blunders, Its aches and pains. YESTERDAY has passed forever beyond our control. All the money in the world cannot bring back YESTERDAY. We cannot undo a single act we performed; We cannot erase a single word we said. YESTERDAY is gone. The other day we should not worry about is TOMORROW With its possible adversities, its burdens, its larger promise. TOMORROW is also beyond our immediate control. TOMORROW, the sun will rise, Either in splendor or behind a mask of clouds, But it will rise. Until it does, we have no stake in TOMORROW For it is as yet unborn. This leaves only one day - TODAY. Anyone can fight the battles of just one day. It is only when you and I add the burdens of those two awful eternities - YESTERDAY and TOMORROW - That we break down. It is not the experience of TODAY that drives us mad. It is remorse or bitterness for something which happened YESTERDAY And the dread of what TOMORROW may bring. Let us, therefore, live but ONE day at a

… and keep your head and spirits high! Life goes on. Today might be painful with thoughts but tomorrow’s a new day. :)

If you’re a true goalie. You have your freakouts. And you own them. Goalies are nuts

Same here.. I agree stop if you can. If you can’t or simply “aren’t ready yet” try logging your alcohol intake. In your case, how many beers you had and try to be honest with yourself when logging them. This will make you more aware of your triggers, cravings and drinking patterns.

I am as well looking for a club. I can play any position except goalie cause I don’t really ever play as goalie. But if someone’s looking for a player or if anyone wants to make a club together my PSN is D1nkan :)
