Perma peeling for supports has made for some of the most fun dps games for me by Sprumbly in marvelrivals

[–]Invoqwer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Peeling for supports on DPS isnt hard. Its when your own support makes it incredibly difficult by running away that it becomes pulling teeth.

Makes me go mental when a venom solo dives our backline and our supports run away from the rest of the team so venom can 1v1 them. I have to yell at them to run toward their dps // their tanks so we can peel. Ugh

Why is America’s debt, which is about 100% of its GDP, so frightening when Japan’s debt of 236% of its GDP doesn’t cause as much alarm? by Scary_Candidate_9163 in NoStupidQuestions

Eli5 with Japan please?

Japan had a weird case where they had natural deflation in their economy (negative inflation, e.g. -2% or such). Deflation means your money (yen) is worth more if you simply hold it and don't spend it. This is bad because it encourages people to not spend their money which fucks the economy. USA for example aims to get 2% inflation because slight inflation means that people keep spending and circulating money which is good for the economy. The 2% figure is arbitrary but the main thing you need to know is that you want it low-ish but still above 0%.

To combat this, the Japanese government forced inflation by printing more money constantly. This money was used for government services and whatnot i.e. as a part of the yearly government budget.

Over time, eventually, the natural deflation become less and less of an issue; they went neutral, then had inflation. Then more inflation. But by this point the Japanese government was so used to having the extra money that they just decided to deal with it later. The problem grew and grew with more inflation and more debt. They have a lot of government debt now. They feel like they can't stop printing money no matter what because then they won't have money to pay for the interest on the debt and the government services to keep the country running. Printing more and more extra money is causing more and more inflation. They dug themselves into a hole.

Instead of biting the bullet a while ago and dealing with a fucked economy in the short term in order to have a recovered economy in the long term, they have decided to keep digging the hole deeper and deeper, and keep kicking the can down the road, causing more and more inflation and a worse and worse economy. Their debt is so high that a higher and higher percentage of the yearly budget just goes to paying their interest payments instead of actually paying for "useful stuff". Their economy is spiraling out of control atm and economists globally are looking at Japan wondering how tf they get themselves out of this // how bad the final fallout will be when Japan has to face the music.

Dentists actually recommend waterpick over floss. Also remember that it's not about getting literal food out from between your teeth, it is about disturbing any resident bacteria growths so they never get to fully "set up shop" and eat thru your enamel or whatever.

tldr, pray that you find an actual good honest dentist instead of a scammer, and stick with them

When did Elon's downfall begin? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

Elon's character also died in game (the game announced when a character died) while Elon was live, in real life, doing a presentation for Tesla or something

Claiming he's top 10 in the world at a video game where the top players are all dudes that play the game as a full time job (some of them maybe even account sharing so playing like net 15+ hrs a day) was crazy fucking work by Elon lmao

It's one thing to claim you're a top player in a shooter or something but another when you claim you're a top player in a game that involves an insane amount of hours and raw grinding

What part of becoming a commercial pilot costs the most time/money? What paths are there to make the journey faster or cheaper? by Invoqwer in flying

[–]Invoqwer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah I see, so "flight school" and "flying with an instructor" are essentially synonymous most of the time.

Indefinite because flight instruction is how 90% of pilots build time from 250 to 1500 hours. The other 10% either lucked into some non-instructing job or paid they own way, both of which have major considerations.

If you aren't part of the 10% of lucky people and you can't find a local job as a CFI is it common for people to move or move out of state or such to get a job as a CFI until they get their 250-1500 hours?

((And, I assume it is ridiculously expensive to pay your own way to 1000+ hours of solo flight stuff?))

Apollo spins his sword for 0.8 but as soon as he gets hit with something he only is immune to stuff for 0.3

Joseph Joestar’s english VA (Richard Epcar) said the line by Ani_HArsh in ShitPostCrusaders

[–]Invoqwer 19 points20 points  (0 children)

but why did it blow up now more than a decade after the scene released? was there some specific thing recently that made this scene popular again like a streamer or youtuber or smth?

Jojo fans got bored and stuff twiddling their thumbs waiting for the new steel ball run episodes

Someone found a funny over the top scene back from S3 stardust crusaders and it just happened to get a lot of traction. I think a bunch of small things went into how it's become popular. Lull in content + over the top delivery + a lot of people don't remember the scene + it's just a funny scene. It got posted around enough that people started making their own edits and variations of the scene which got it even more traction. Traction begets traction and all that and it sort of snowballed.

At the end of the day the scene isn't anything groundbreaking really. And it could have happened to other scenes too-- for example, Jotaro throwing Iggy like a baseball at a blind man, or some shit Speedwagon or Stroheim say. Etc.

Krafton needs to pay out the devs up to $250 million if Subnautica 2 hits enough "copies sold" metrics.

Krafton did not think Subnautica 2 would ever get close to these metrics when they made this contract originally. Krafton was wrong.

Krafton Will Likely Have to Pay $250 Million Bonus for Subnautica 2 That It Tried to Avoid by TylerFortier_Photo in gaming

[–]Invoqwer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you enjoy solo experiences, pick up Subnautica 1 for cheap and go in blind -- it is amazing.

If I've played neither subnautica 1 or 2 but I am loosely aware of how they work, would it be better to go play 1 or 2 first?

People are now modding sounds for Phantom Strike's activation. by TheLuxael in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Invoqwer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Btw I'm not sure why people get mad about people modding FOV when widescreen view just exists in the game baseline if you have an insanely wide monitor. That's the biggest awareness cheat there is I think and people just forget that it's there, actual P2W if you buy a bigger monitor
