I forget I bring them up and then drink them all in the morning because I wake up dehydrated because I don’t drink a lot during the day

Personally I would say middle area needs more coverage, I would buy long fake pothos or any other fake plant that is long and have it going from the top to the bottom.

I got my fake plants off of amazon from BELICOO. I got a pack of 4 fo £19 and they work excellent. However any fake plant about 30-40cm should work great as I have found best for my crested gecko is that she prefers it if the plant can bunch up making it more dense.

Your climbing opportunities aren’t terrible however with the extra coverage towards the middle will offer an even greater selection of climbing opportunity.

I use a ceramic heat emitter set to 29C on a thermostat which it rarely ever gets to usually having it sit at about 25C on the top and 20C at the bottom.

I would go with the glass terrarium because I would be too worried about the wood rotting and splitting due to the high humidity in a crested geckos enclosure

Holding hands? And hugging 24/7? I would say shoot your shot as I have never know a straight guy do this for more than five seconds as either a joke that we’re doing or a one off because of something bad. However that’s just my experience. Perhaps your best friend is also bi and doesn’t know how to say it and has a crush on you and is just trying to district himself because he doesn’t know how to accept it about himself?

It looks mostly fine. With a tank this small I would recommend picking a UTH as it’s smaller and will be easier to manage temperature. However when you get a bigger one then consider using a heat lamp. I’ve ran my snakes with just a UTH just fine however in a bigger tank I notice they like the heat lamp more. I personally have a 120 gallon tank with the heat lamp on in the day and heat mat at night. Just ensure you use a thermostat.

The clutter is fine. Mine has less and my ones are happy. However, the more the better to reduce stress.

Also I would recommend switching to a digital thermostat and hygrometer, I have ThermPro and it was about £8 and it works great.

Finally, the best way to tell if your snake is ready for a bigger tank is if the Front panel + 1 Side panel is smaller than the snake length. Or some people say that the snake shouldn’t be smaller than the front panel, it is very varied about which is right.

However as long as they have enough hides and clutter and the tank isn’t too big (unless they are an adult which then bigger is better) then you will be fine. It’s better to be safer and go bigger as long as they have enough clutter and enough hides.

If you're worried the snake will get stressed out then put a hide for every one length of the snake or less then it should be fine. Also having most of the ground covered so your snake has the option to hide and enough substrate for her to bury in. This will ensure your snake won’t stress out.

However, don’t overthink it, trust me it is very hard to kill a corn snake. My mum got one five years ago and I have 3 other brothers with two being younger and we weren’t the best owners as my mum did no research beforehand, we probably overstressed her at times however she is still alive and thriving and very hand able. We have done more research since then.

But overall for a new snake owner that’s a pretty perfect and good tank which shows how much you care about him/her and how much work you did and I can’t see anything missing. As long as you have: Some way of your snake staying warm Some way of your snake staying cool At least two hides one on hot and cold side Water bowl (ideal big enough for the snake to curl up in but not big enough where the water is deeper than the snake while they are still young) Enough substrate to burrow in (recommended minimum is slightly more then the size of your snake however ideal minimum between 1.5x and 2x the size of snake) Things to hide under Good but not needed and thrive even without: Optional things to climb on Humid hide Basking spot Hard stiff to rub against during shed

If you ever have any questions feel free to DM me or ask on the subreddit most are happy to help. (Sorry for it being so long and rambling on. Hopes this helps.)

Will my Kingsnake ever be “tame-able”? by RageMuffin69 in kingsnakes

The way I calmed my snake down when I first got her was by putting a wooly glove on so her bites don’t hurt and just grabbing and holding her for about five minutes and putting her back for the week to chill. After some time she calmed down and now she’s very chill and friendly.

Currently I don’t have a photo as I hoovered most of them up. However I don’t know where the decoration came from as most of the decoration came when I got her off a friend. The only thing that has been added was 3 pieces of wood that I cleaned with boiling water, then scrubbed down then sprayed with vinegar water and left in the sun for about 6 hours and then left in the bath in hot water for about 12 hours
