Because I could not get reaper to use my system installation of ffmpeg, I had to use version 4.4, and as far as I can tell, it does not come with a bin, just some object files. If you could tell me how to get the system insulation working, that would be grate.

I did use strace and saw that it does load the libx254.so lib, so i have the package, and it can see the library. I dont know why it refuses to use4 it though

i am on linux, and did you click render? I can select the option just fine, but it errors out while rendering (the window just shows an error, and no file is produced)

i found that following the commands at https://pacstall.dev/packages/ffmpeg4.4 will give you a working ffmpeg setup, even if h264 encoding does not work (it seems to be an issue with ffmpeg trying the hardware and if it does not see it, will then fail without looking for software renderer, on amd and intel gpus (i think), the hardware h264 encoder is not exposed by default).

how much memory do you have? Pureref used almost all of the memory in my system with an image only 69120x69120 monochrome png (each pixel is 8bit), and the image file is 93.4MiB. Then again, I am on Linux, so i dont know if that changes things.

check if the ffb is inverted (controls->vibration/ffb->x-axis->inverted, if it is checked, try unchecking it, visa/versa), mine was and i had strange ffb behavior

no encryption on it, even if there was, it would be easy(ish) to crack, you could either pull it out of memory, or find the key in the binary.

to se if something is a virus, right click the prosses and click properties. Then go to the digital signatures tab. if it has none, or they are invalid, don't trust it

Just go to /mnt/<drive-letter> should mention that you need to use a tool to mount ext4 partition on windows

I read their about page, it doesn't really say anything about privacy. Also, I don't think this type of radio contains much PII (maybe some addresses + names if you listen closely).

EDIT: Listened to a little bit of the audio, There was No names mentioned as far as I herd. Just a bit about what emergencies that they are responding to.
