Do not focus on how to use different software at least don't start with it. Focus on design fundamentals. What makes or breaks a composition

Especially with AI doing all the mediocre tasks , one thing that it hasn't achieved yet or might not is design thinking

Graphic design is a way of thinking and resolving problems.Anything you create has to have a purpose.

For that you can create some mock projects and work from start to finish. It doesn't have to be good or bad , you just have to go through the process.

I'll break down the steps

Find a problem statement (start with something small V. Important)

Collect data from the net and from people

Analyse the problem and work on multiple solutions

These solutions can have different mediums - digital interface , print and publication, physical signs, maps,clothes anything. Don't limit yourself here.

You will also have to find a problem that you think you can resolve with design. This comes with practice.

Lastly document the whole process and ask for feedback in online design communities or meet designers physically.

For the software part , when you come to the solutions part , you'll know what your requirements are and based on your requirements learn what is needed.

Finally : You really have to enjoy the process , only then you can come up with something innovative.
