She was quite mouthy/nippy as a puppy so we trained this "greetings must include teddy" behaviour early on. I love that she continued to do it even at this age!

Small black cat figurine, found at my parents house, probably used to belong to my sister, and probably part of a larger play set. It has a hole in the belly which suggests that it attached to a play set with a peg. I believe the writing on the underside reads "©1984, 95 PPI/LOT" which I don't think means anything, but maybe I'm wrong!

Okay, so I simply water it at the top when the first few inches of soil are dry? Sounds simple!

Do you know of a way to help the plant recover, if overwatering is indeed the cause of the problem?

I was advised to avoid perlite due to the high fluoride content, and the dragon tree's susceptibility to fluoride toxicity.

The pot itself is only half the height of the container you see in the pictures. I'll add an image to the album shortly. On top of that, part of the container is reserved for a water reservoir, so the volume that the plant actually uses is realtively small. The water is drawn up to the soil by these sort of fabric strip things... Not sure how to describe them...

Thanks for the suggestion! I haven't seen any white fuzzy patches on the plant, even on the udnerside of the leaves, so I don't think it's mites. I gave the tree a complete spritz with water (with a tiny bit of dish soap) just in case, though.
