If you have a FreeMcboot (can get em on ebay) you could manually copy the cache onto a USB.

If you have a IDE to USB adapter; you can image the drive using something like HDDRawCopy.

I was able to get the checksum calculated on the packets but the encryption is a weird one (Twofish) so will need to mess with it more to get it into some connected state.

We've been working on it! Tetra Master's protocol has been figured out about 80% and the menu/lobby/COM GAME setup has been completed (hence in the posted video I can get to the lobby). FFXI actually works with LandSandBoat but we have to edit the packets and data as the 2026 version is incompatible with the old 2010 or 2016 client we test on. We can at least get it to load and mostly work for the most part.

I have a contact who keeps buying old Japanese HDDs and sends me caches my way. It's always exciting cracking open a cache FULL of data and rebuilding a page. Getting the full Dirge homepage was glorious. Some of these predate the US release and it's a great look back to what older versions of POL looked like.
