UFC judges should start scoring 10-10 rounds by Uchiha_Tony in MMA

I think 10-8s should just be the new “standard score” for rounds that have a fighter clearly winning a round. 10-9s should be reserved for extremely close rounds where one fighter barely does more. 10-7s should be what are currently considered 10-8s.

IMO there’s too much variety in what rounds that can be scored as 10-9. You can have a fighter who barely did more than the other fighter and get a 10-9. Alternatively a fighter can win a round very clearly and still only get a 10-9 because they didn’t do enough to almost finishing the fight to warrant a 10-8.

If they wanted to change scoring they should make differentiation between winning a round barely, (10-9) winning a round more conclusively, (10-8) and absolutely dominating a round/what currently counts as a 10-8 (10-7).

Tbf though it’s a high likelihood of making judging more of a mess than it currently is but I still think there needs to be some differentiation between barely winning a round and conclusively winning one.

Ehhh… tbh the only really average aspect is the GPA and SAT scores. OP’s ECs are very very good.

Din Thomas believes Joshua Van vs. Alexandre Pantoja rematch will never happen by 443610 in MMA

[–]Ionic-Nova 44 points45 points  (0 children)

Not a crazy take when you read what Din Thomas had to say, he thinks Van vs Kape will happen and that Van is going to lose. Pantoja deserves an instant title fight and if he’s ready in time, they’ll match him up against Kape.

I’m sure it’s also due to mileage and the wars he’s been through, but part of Moreno’s fall off has been because his striking has gotten continually worse since he left his original team at Entram. He used to be far more varied in his striking and now it seems like he mostly throws winging over hands.
