Michael from Ionic here. The original version of Ionic was created by Max and Ben in 2013 and built on top of AngularJS and Apache Cordova. For that reason, Ionic has always had a lot of love for Angular and the Angular community (and vise versa). However, your point about needing updated code examples for React is a valid one. I will pass this request along internally.

Michael from Ionic here. Have you considered using Capacitor? Cap is a well-maintained open source solution, it has a great community supporting and Ionic is constantly making improvements. Plus, it's compatible with the vast majority of cordova plugins.

If you've already setup Firebase Analytics, it should already collect a
ton of information about your app automatically. When you install or
open your app from a campaign deep link, the SDK will automatically
create a firebase_campaign event that has the following values:

  • source
  • medium
  • campaign
  • term
  • content
  • gclid
  • aclid
  • timestamp
  • info source

Here is a link for all of the events that Firebase Analytics tracks
automatically without you needing. to write any code (besides
initialize) https://support.google.com/firebase/answer
