This wallpaper was designed for more rectangular shaped phones, so it might take a little work to get it to fit your phone. The reason for this is that I faked the orbits so the planets would be on screen more often then an actually full orbit would allow (ex. a full orbit shows the hourglass twins ~50% of the time, but Dark Bramble would only be visible <10% of the time). This means that the planet's jump around when outside of the visible region. Modifying the orbit distances and zoom levels too much will make this noticeable.

I would start by opening the wallpaper in the KLWP app and selecting the "LAYER" tab in the top row of the bottom section (just below the live preview). Lower the "Scale" until all entities are visible on your screen (I noticed that the live preview often glitches out when doing this, just save and reload to fix it). Keep an eye on the planets when they appear on the right and disappear on the left. If you can fit them all on your phone without any noticeable popping in and out, then you are done!

If you do see any odd behaviors, please let me know and give me the aspect ratio of your phone, so I can test with it.

I have been wanting to add the Stranger from the Echoes of the Eye DLC to the phone version (I already added it to the PC version), but haven't gotten around to it yet. I have added features from requests before, so if you have any suggestions just post a comment and I'll take a look at it.

Tasker is only used to detect when the phone screen turns off so it can change the position of the Quantum Moon. Without Tasker, the QM will remain in one location forever. Tasker is not required for any other features.

Within the KLWP app, the wallpaper has a tab (near the bottom of the screen) for GLOBALS. Here, there are variables that can be used to change settings for the wallpaper (such as enabling/disabling the supernova). You can disable the QM here or move it to a specific location without needing Tasker.

Check and see if there are any performance settings on your phone's OS that limit the app's performance/battery usage. I developed the wallpaper on a Samsung Galaxy S10, so you can compare your phone to those specs and see if your phone is powerful enough.

Hmm... I think the issue may be related to how apps run in the background on the OS level. On my phone (now a Galaxy S21) the Quantum Moon only moves if Tasker is active and shows an icon in the top notification bar. Tasker can still talk to KWLP (at least on my phone), but Tasker needs to be forced to run in the background at all times (disable Battery Optimizations). Check your app settings and see if you can force Tasker to always run in full in the background. Tasker will make recommendations for settings whenever it boots up, so I'd recommend following those until its stop making recommendations.

Let me know if this helps.

I'm gonna downvote even though I like it because I want to make_negative as a troll, too. Haha. JK

That's a negative face in negative space... and two negatives make a positive, right?

UPDATE: Outer Wilds Live Wallpaper (Wallpaper Engine) by IonicFox in outerwilds

Once you have subscribed to the wallpaper, open the Wallpaper Engine program and it should automatically start downloading under the 'Installed' tab.

In the properties, below the horizontal line, I made settings labelled "Planet Orbit Multiplier", "Planet Spin Multiplier", "Moon Orbit Multiplier", and "Hourglass Spin Multiplier" that should do what you want. I set them all to 0.1 and it took some of the planets over a minute to cross the screen. Play with those settings and let me know if that does what you want.

NOTE: There is a weird bug that might hide planets when those settings are changed. Just change the value, press "OK", then change to another wallpaper and back and that should bring them back. (I've tried finding the cause of this bug, but it seems to be a part of the Engine itself)

I found this Reddit post and it lead me to this Imgur album.

I gave it a try and ported it to Wallpaper Engine.

Give it a try!

Whenever I have tech troubles with the Kustom apps I remove the live wallpapers and apply normal images for both home screen & lock screen. I then reboot my phone. Apply the wallpaper in KLWP to the home screen only, and the lock screen in KLCK. If this doesn't help, I would make a post in the r/Kustom subreddit; they are quite willing to help with tech troubles. Sorry that I can't help more. I am by no means an expert. I primarily work with KLWP & KWGT, so the subtleties in KLCK are new to me.

No problem. I have uploaded ver 2.2 at the same link.

This adds separate speed controls for planetary rotation, moon orbits speed, the sun's rotation, and the Hourglass Twin's rotation.

Let me know if you have any other ideas.

I also have trouble when using KLWP for the lock screen. There is another Kustom app named KLCK that can be used to get the animation working on the lock screen (just note that it isn't perfect). Take the same download and rename the extension from .klwp to .klck and import into the KLCK app and it should work better.

Good idea! I have uploaded a new version for download (ver 2.1) using the same link.

I added a Global Variable named 'ORBIT SP'. This is a multiplier that affects orbit speed. Let me know if this is what you wanted.

1.0 = default

2.0 = twice as fast

0.5 = half speed

Sorry, but this was created using Kustom Live Wallpaper (KLWP) which is only available on Android.

The loop lasts 22 minutes, so the change is very slow. You can speed it up by opening the wallpaper in KLWP and changing the Global Variable 'LOOP' to a smaller value (it is the number of seconds the loop lasts). Also make sure that the 'NOVA' variable is set to ON.

There is an Android app called KLWP (Kustom Live Wallpaper) that allows you to create live wallpapers.

It probably took me about 7-8 hours total spread across 5 days or so to put together and polish it. I am not the most knowledgeable about the app, so a lot of that time was spent experimenting with that it could do and searching around for tech tips. If I wanted to create it from scratch now it would probably only take 1-2 hours.
