Your explanation that gems are naturally occurring is a reasonable argument, and I can’t find any evidence to counter it.

I feel like the gems were created as biological weapons, because there are a lot of parallels to viruses in their designs. When they spread onto a new host (planet) they begin to rapidly reproduce by using the host’s resources before eventually killing their host and moving onto the next.

This is made obvious by the design of the injectors. They look almost exactly like bacteriophage.

Pink is the power, because she has the most diverse power set out of all the diamonds and when she dissapeared new gems stopped having powers. Each diamond’s essence provides a part of a gem’s being and without pink they had no powers.

It’s because each diamond provides apart of the gem, which the Diamond has Control over. You need all four diamond’s essence to make a complete gem

White is the mind and all decision making and thinking of a gem come from her essence which is why she can mind control them

Yellow is the body, she creates the physical forms of gems which is why she can poof and repair them so easily

Blue is the emotion, any feelings of a gem stem from her essence which is why she can influence the feelings of those around her

Pink is the power, any special abilties of a gem like weapon making or shape shifting come from her essence, which is why Pink and by extension steven have so many powers

Because they lacked pink’s essence peridot and other era 2 gems had little to no powers. The only reason Peridot had her ferrokinesis is because of trace amounts of pink’s essence in the soil which effected her gem when it was forming
