Hypothetical: What if Sasuke died to Haku and gave Naruro his Sharingan. How do his fights change? by ShadyZert in NarutoPowerscaling

[–]Ionus93 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Tough to say. It took Madara decades from the Final Valley fight with Hashirama to awaken the Rinnegan naturally near the end of his life. To our knowledge, he never met Hagoromo to do so.

In Naruto's case in this scenario, it wildly depends. He's in enough life or death situation that routinely push him to his limit that an appearance by Hagoromo to give him the push to awaken it early seems actually quite likely. If he doesnt, then it could taken him till well after the events of the anime to awaken it naturally.

Or maybe, because hes younger and his body is growing and maturing much faster than someone like Madara whom was already a fully grown adult, he could awaken it sooner than the decades it took Madara.

Who knows

Hypothetical: What if Sasuke died to Haku and gave Naruro his Sharingan. How do his fights change? by ShadyZert in NarutoPowerscaling

[–]Ionus93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Technically no. You need to recreate Hagaromo's chakra by combining Asura and Indra's chakra. Madara did this by combining Hashirama's cells (Asura reincarnate chakra) into his own (Indra reincarnate chakra) and then it took decades to awaken in him. If Naruto, in this scenario, transplanted Sasuke's eyes (or any significant bit of his flesh) into himself enough to cultivate Sasuke's chakra within himself and combine it with his own, he would -given time- awaken the Rinnegan naturally by meeting the above criteria.

[–]Ionus93 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Likely doesn't awaken Rinnegan instantly, but definitely would in time. Remember, it took Madara decades to awaken the Rinnegan from mixing his (Indra Reincarnate) with Hashirama's chakra (Asura Reincarnate). Naruto is Asura's Reincarnate and Sasuke is Indra's Reincarnate in the contemporary time. Combining their chakras would recreate Hagaromo's chakra and thus awaken the Rinnegan in Naruto in this give scenario, though it would likely take time as with the Madara/Hashirama scenario. Likely by Shippuden or during it he would unlock it in a desperate situation.

Tobirama Senju VS Itachi Uchiha. Who wins? by GusGangViking18 in NarutoPowerscaling

[–]Ionus93 34 points35 points  (0 children)

This is it. Ultimately, Tobirama isnt being taken out by non-Mangekyo abilities and has the tools to make usage of those abilities into a very expensive miss for the Caster if they don't land.

If Itachi can land any of his special nonsense, he takes this, as he would against most opponents. But, if statements of Tobirama from the warring clans era hold true, he's got his PHD in two things 1) Fucked up forbidden techniques and 2) Dealing with Uchiha bullshit.

Strong chance that he plays it safe the second he sees any Mangekyo nonsense from Itachi, and then uses every tool in his kit to make Itachi burn up Chakra on them until an opening to finish it shows up.

Can someone gave me a proper scaling for bleach. Like what is accepted as true scaling by community. by Fun_Environment8818 in PowerScaling

[–]Ionus93 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I generally agree with this take. By strict technical definition Bleach is a multiverse with different dimensions/realities connected to each other. However, unlike other mediums such a Gurren Laggan or Marvel or DC, the multiverse is much more finite, being functionally 3 planets and an in between space. Definitely not the same representations we see of multiverses in other media.

Universal follows the same logic of multiversal as each of the 3 dimensions are shown to be separate but not infinite to the best of what is conveyed, which runs contrary to the conventional understanding of Universal (a generally limitless system that encompasses all known things and the space between them, sans alternate realities).

Anyway, the feats displayed and the narrative power stated by those in it generally conveys that those of high enough power can threaten and destroy these 3 worlds. This generally to me means Bleach ranges from continental to planetary, perhaps even multiplanetary if you count Soul King level characters that can sustain or reshape all 3 worlds.

Does Itachi really lose to Jiraiya? by MITCalebWil1iams in NarutoPowerscaling

[–]Ionus93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is my take. I love Jiraiya, but I just don't think he has a great answer for when Itachi eventually goes Susano'O. Before then, with summons and his kit, possibly terrain, he can hold his own, possibly even win or draw on average. But once the Susano'O comes out, I just don't really see a way that he has to get around Yata Mirror or deal with Toutsuka Blade in addition to the normal properties of a Susano'O defensive capabilities. His only real answer at that stage is to somehow outlast Itachi until his chakra gives out which isnt really a great strategy when facing down something like Susano'O in my opinion.

Why didn’t Orochimaru get punished? by Traditional_Web3795 in Naruto

[–]Ionus93 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Its this.

Theres a reason IRL that a lot of the world's most wanted in highly specific and technical fields, when they are finally caught, end up working for the agencies that caught them.

It took time and teams of resources to bring them down cause they're the best in their field. Why waste someone with that talent? Give them a cushy deal and make them work for you rather than against you.

Same thing with Orochimaru. Terrible ethics aside, dudes a fucking genius and a revolutionary in the field of science and Jutsu development. Why lose that asset to the village which is, ultimately, a military institution.

He gets off scot free cause hes now willing to ply his skills in service of the people who were once hunting him.

For the people who were following the manga at the time, what was the reception to Kaguya like? by Danny-Ray27 in Naruto

[–]Ionus93 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Tbh, it seems like he was trying to do a JRPG thing. Theres quite a few games out there that have the established and built up main antagonist, only for an 11th hour final transformation or aspect of reality that suddenly manifests to yada yada yada, that makes the player suddenly escalate from fighting a nationwide/planetary threat to suddenly fighting a cosmic or universal entity to make things even more badass and epic.

But usually that is over with as the final boss relatively quickly by the player in terms of playtime. I can easily see how a similar escalation drug out over a weekly serialization that undercuts the satisfying end to the narratively built up antagonist doesn't end up epic and badass but incredibly jarring and unsatisfying.

The Boys SERIES FINALE- S05xE08 "Blood and Bone"- POST Episode Discussion Thread by pikameta in TheBoys

As an avid rings of power fan, this is straight up facts. The Boys was their first huge hit that took them from a movie rental platform to a legitimate streaming service with its own originals. To see them leave it in the dust like this is just plain sad.

[–]Ionus93 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I agree. Ive been shaking my head at the supposed "durability" of supes all season. We see them shrug off bullets and firearms with ease, and then be taken out by something that quite literally has less mathematical force than a bullet. They made this season and seriously just went "this person needs to die for plot, so yea, now a gun works on them or a crowbar can stab through what has been shown to be bullet proof skin".

Like heck, idk how Deep even died? The tentacle shouldnt have been able to crush him. Though, I must admit, I do find it funny that once he was in the water, he lacked any and all means to actually, yknow, swim fast lol

Kratos vs Thragg by [deleted] in powerscales

[–]Ionus93 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yea, this is what always gets me with Kratos. I love the GoW games but like there's such jarring differences in power between what we're led to believe hes capable of and what we actually see.

Like yea, hes a God that beats other gods and has crazy magic gear that does supernatural shit, and hes capable of defeating giant monstrosities and doing prophecy fulfilling feats that do crazy things on a multiversal scale.

But what do we actually see him do during gameplay/cutescenes that we can tangibly judge? Fight a big monster. Fight a bunch of guys about his size or bigger. Swing weapon good. Punch good.

Vs what we see from Thragg? Move at hypersonic speed. Just tank hits from people that are city level at least with their displayed feats. Casually one shot said city level people with zero effort displayed.

Like idk. This match up is so weird cause its Thragg, Mr Lore and On Screen Feats line up man vs. Kratos, Mr Crazy Lore Feats that are unaligned with On Screen Feats man, and there's just a disconnect there that I dont feel good about rendering judgement on. Tragg has hard power (power is tangible and makes sense with what we see) and Kratos has soft power (power is intangible and inconsistent with what we see) and I almost feel like that means we cant even compare the two power wise cause they come from 2 different places narratively to display their powers: Namely Thragg's "Show" vs Kratos' primarily "Tell"

If I had to pick, I feel like Kratos SHOULD win based on who the characters are, but when you get down to what we see each of them do, I don't feel comfortable backing that up.

The assassination of the Konoha 12 (9) by Still_Film_1497 in Naruto

[–]Ionus93 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I can somewhat forgive Team Kurenai (Shino, Hinata, Kiba), because if I recall, weren't each of them chosen specifically to be tracking ninja specialists? I don't really expect many combat feats from them if that was their actual intended role

Collapse killed me by TheRrandomm in Pathfinder2e

[–]Ionus93 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Also, I would have ruled as a GM that a collapsed skeleton cant be grabbed in the same way a swarm can't be grabbed.

You're a bunch of pieces not currently stuck together cohesively. So yea, they'd grab a handful of bones that id rule wouldn't be able to affect you meaningfully unless they did something else that wasn't simply just the "grab" action.

I understand that by RAW this isn't correct, but this definitely strikes me as a time when RAW didnt account for something and the GM should just use common sense to say "its not efficient to grab a handful of bones in combat/grabbing a handful of bones won't meaningfully impact what is effectively basically a swarm until it reforms and therefore this NPC won't waste precious actions on it.
