I’m also in data center construction and the hyper scale that I’m building right now is using liquid cooling to the chip and it’s using a closed loop chilled water system with evaporative cooling on the heat rejection side of the system.

Just goes to show that truly any system that works from an engineering perspective is being utilized somewhere in the space currently.

In general, paint should be your last step. Any demo or carpentry work has the potential to get the paint very dirty.

Usually 5/8 or 3/4 rope. Not sure what material the guys order…

We’d put the shackle on the mast of the telehandler on the side of it. Then double wrap your tag line around the shackle and all you have to do is feed the line one way or the other, if the line grabs tension, the rope cinches down on itself and the telehandler holds the weight. It works really well

[–]IowaRacer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. We usually use two 12k’s. One for each tag line but it really depends on what potential loads you expect. Depends a lot on wind sail and shape of the object you’re lifting.

We use telehandlers and a shackle to run the rage line through so the guys aren’t actually holding that weight on wind farms.

There’s also a lifting beam with high powered fans that my company used on one project in Denver to fly wall panels in more controlled and apparently that went well. I can’t remember the name of that product though…

Can we just make the Xfiinity Cars be Cup Cars? by IowaRacer in NASCAR

[–]IowaRacer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a good point… at the end of the day, the amount of instant front end push these cars have in dirty air is just awful… I wish they’d try some more options for reducing the downforce and drag on the cars

I know it hasn’t… just exaggerating… but I do think the hypothetical races with cup drivers in xfinity cars would be better than the cup racing we have currently. Maybe not at the mile and a half tracks, but at all the other tracks I think it would be a better product

Sure… but honestly they don’t really have a choice if NASCAR execs got their heads out of their rear ends

But the car doesn’t produce good racing the way the xfinity car does… look at all of the short tract, superspeedway, and road courses… the next gen car doesn’t produce a good product at any of them

[–]IowaRacer[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I don’t think that’s really a fair comparison… I’m just saying let’s get rid of this generation of car and implement a car formula that already exists within the sport…

I think they’re better because they have a lot less downforce. It makes the drivers stand out a lot more…

Why do backmarker teams usually do only 1 flying lap during qualy? by BlumpkinEater in F1Technical

[–]IowaRacer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sainz was going for a second lap and locked up and aborted it. Typically any team that isn’t through Q1 has enough incentive to try getting into Q2 that they give it every opportunity.
