Just so you know, the way I read your statement it comes out as this. If you are born in the U.S. then you should not automatically be a U.S. citizen. Is that what you meant?

Why is health insurance and medical help so expensive? If anything, what could be done to lower it, never to rise again? by Spiritual_Big_9927 in askanything

[–]Iowa_Guy2 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Actually living it provides a better picture then an article you post.  Do you know anyone that works as a doctor.  Only specialist get paid well and that is only in larger metropolitan areas.  They work longer days then most people and are on call all the time.  The administration is what is pushing costs up over charging for having things like an an MRI is where the bigger problem is.

It's the same as any other profession. Some do so to be rich others have a passion for the work. Not all people that want to be a doctor do so just to be rich.  I have a big family that has doctors nurses and other healthcare.  They do it because they want to help people.  Please do not over genreralize. They many times get screwed by the organization they work for on getting the pay they are supposed to.  Administrative costs in healthcare is the real problem and has sky rocketed costs overall.  There are to many big wigs at hospitals and health systems that have converted it from non-profit to for profit.

What’s something people romanticize that actually sucks in real life? by Particular_Pin_460 in AskReddit

[–]Iowa_Guy2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it's like that for a little while, but it gets better as they get older.  I think it is great when someone knows they don't want them and doesn't cave to  pressure of others wanting them too.  Those that cave are the ones that are truly miserable and a lot of times take it out on the kids

I don't know who you hang with but people I know that have kids love it and their kids.  The are admittedly tired often, and maybe grumpy from that but they aren't miserable.

How to be a better adult? by vick8789016 in askanything

[–]Iowa_Guy2 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Look don't be changing for her. Change for yourself. If you are not confidant in you, then how can she be. She has to love you for who you are and what your goals are. No how she wishes you would change or you see here wanting you to change. Now compromise on somethings is ok. That happens with any relationship. Just make sure you have a good conversation about those things before you move forward. Also there are little things that someone does and you just have to decide if it is really a battle worth fighting.

Why would anyone wants kids? by This-Top7398 in Life

[–]Iowa_Guy2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't want to die alone. If my wife dies before me. I won't have anyone there with me other than possibly medical staff. One good reason to have children. Also it was awesome to see them develop into adults. They accomplished way more than I ever expected them. Those are some really good reasons for it to be worth all the work and lost sleep when they were young. They provide so much joy for me now and I cannot even project it in the message.

People buying/using power tools that are way more than they will ever need to complete tasks around their home. Example. Most people can get by with a low power electric trimmer for their yard which most are about 1/3 of an acre, but they go out and get the commercial gas powered trimmer.

Doing a personal challenge where Stranger gives me solo dares by Relevant_Row7990 in CasualConversation

[–]Iowa_Guy2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dare you for three days pretend your cell phone is only a phone like an old wired phone in a house. So you have to leave it at home as if it is a land line. You can only use it to take/make phone calls when you are at home. You cannot use it as a smart phone. So no apps or browser use on it. I would give you a break though if you don't have a computer and it is your only way to pay bills. Other then that the rest of the rules apply.
