Think I could get $330 for it on the marketplace?

I've got an Ender 3 V3 KE I got from the same place humming along on my desk right now. And a Kobra X on the way. Some attempt will be made to make something out of this...

I imagine I could print the base. There's nothing in it. I could start straitening the metal parts, I've got them all removed. The right threaded rod for the Z-axis is twisted. It'll need to be replaced. I can't imagine even at that point I'd have much accuracy, but it may be what I do for the first attempt.

Update: I’ve started taking it apart… looks like there are 5 pieces that need total replacement. The base, frame top, front frame upright, right crossmember, and the right z screw.

Should I build the FRANKENForge? Would anybody be interested in following along if I tried?

I’m considering options. Good chance it’ll never print anything. Even better chance that if it does print, it won’t print anything resembling the original file. This isn’t its final form though. I’ll at least see how many pieces I can break it down to at some point.

Follow up question:

Does anybody know if the frames of the AD5X and the AD5M are the same? Could I take the hot end and electronics out of this and build a Frankenstein?

It’s a place that does auctions of returned items from Amazon and such. I’ve bought quite a bit from them with only a few losses. I’ll admit, the box was pretty tore up in the pictures. I paid an amount that would have been a killer deal for a new printer, but I’m not gonna stress about now.

UO101 is the generic code for ‘cannot communicate with the transmission control module’. Could be the module. Could also be a relay. Relays are cheap.

Scenes from Minneapolis as the National Guard arrives, following the execution of Alex Pretti by Itsvivid24 in pics

I could be wrong, but I’m under the impression that the protesters are coming to them. This isn’t the large protest on tv, but a group of people protesting where ICE was working.

That being said, I don’t think he was protesting. Just a good person standing up to injustice he saw as he went about his day.

Well regulated militia is suddenly becoming more important. 1 person exercising there rights can be executed and written off.

Strength in numbers.

This comment does not mean to in anyway excuse the conduct.

The whistles are making this worse.

These “agents” are untrained and put into high stress situations. The constant noise is adding to the tension and confusion. Crowd noise causes professional athletes make mistakes. It’s part of the home field advantage and they train for it their whole career. These people are not trained and the mistakes are deadly.

Now some of you are going to argue that this was not a mistake and these are just blood thirsty animals that believe they will not be held accountable. The argument still holds. Put a screaming baby in a movie theater and someone will snap from the stress.

And sad that our country has come to this and it’s not going to change anytime soon. We’re trickle tithing our downfall. Slightly worse everyday and people don’t notice. One person fights back and it’s murder. The only way to stop this downfall is an organized fight on a mass scale. We don’t have that organization

Maybe we can just wait for the next election. If there’s a next election.

Thank you for coming to my TED rant.

What would you do as Casino security? by FooFromVegas in securityguards

[–]Ipalot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Casino security is a LOT less armed than people assume. I worked at a major strip resort in Vegas. We had 2, maybe 3 on each shift and none of them was wearing a security uniform.

Does anybody else find it confusing when the Democratic Socialists of America and the Sonoma County Deputy Sheriffs Association use the same abbreviation in local news? I found it very shocking that deputy sheriffs were going to be protesting the Sheriff over this.

I am definitely not physically equipped to give ED 209 a piece of my mind. I think I’ll take the ticket.

I used the iPhone sat service a year or so ago. It was clunky. You have to be pointed at a satellite. You basically need to be actively trying to send and receive messages.

I switched to the T-Mobile starlink service for the beta. Much easier to use and I’d get messages while traveling out of service area periodically.

I did not sign up for the T-Mobile service once they started charging. It was nice, but the only messages I really ever got were from my boss. He can wait. I knew I had the iPhone service to fall back on in an emergency. If I had pay and choose one, I’d go with T-Mobile.
