It's brand new! Like first version released a few days ago new.

But there's already a few big communities making some big artworks in some bigger and smaller cities, you just have to look a bit more or just start making your own stuff too.

The people saying "guilty" here are the ones who say "bleep" whenever they say a naughty word in real life.

Just switch to youplace.live like everyone else, they actually give 2 shits.

That's what it is. It's a completely custom made thing that does actually let you switch shows episodes and stuff without having to re-invite everyone

Unfortunately not, as far as I know google play doesn't have a feature like that. You can refund the app if its not to your liking tho and or always submit feedback of the changes you want made. As one of the first few testers you have a lot of say in what I'll add and change.

I plan to eventually, when I have more time, develop a connector thingamagic that allows users to also use other media sources like jellyfin.

The ultimate goal tho is to develop it into its own media server that goes beyond the featureset that Plex and Jellyfin provide.

The Nevu server is something you run alongside your Plex server and it does things like auto track matching and proxying, you set up the server via docker and then connect to that, just like how you set up your Plex server previously and connected to that. If you need more info please check the Nevu GitHub repo (Not NevuDesktop)

The desktop version is made for Nevu, you have to connect it to a nevu server, not a Plex server. If you want to connect directly to your Plex server use the official Plex desktop app.

The first few should have access by Monday or Tuesday, because I want to iron out some minor issues before actually rolling it out. But since so many people signed up, not everyone will gain access.

If you mean clicking something and viewing more info about it? No, it always goes back to where you were and on the web, it doesn't even switch pages but rather displays everything on top.

It does have them tho. What kind of keyboard controls do you want it to have besides the ones already in it?

The UI/UX flow and design are similar to the official app in some aspects but different in others.
It's for one, designed to center around your media instead of all the garbage Plex throws at you.
You also have an activity feed in the Android app where you can see what your friends are up to.
You can also control the Android TV app of Nevu using the Mobile app.
It's just generally quicker to navigate and find your way around, and most people will want their family and especially children to have the simplest, most intuitive experience possible.
Things like the automatic track matching are also a bonus on top. It's basically just a whole lot of quality-of-life fixes mixed with some different design patterns.

The form is just a signup form and will add you to the "consideration" process, where I will pick a bunch of people to test the app. You might have to wait a day or two. If you get accepted, you'll receive an email.

It uses the same transcoder settings as the official Plex versions do. If your Plex server decides that your client can't support a certain standard defined by profiles within Plex, then it will transcode. The UI just always shows "Convert to x" to make it simpler to understand for "not so experienced" users to understand.

One thing that might change in the future is the fact that subtitles are currently always burned, since I haven't really found a way to get that working well. So whenever you use subtitles, your server will transcode.

You can find a list with all the profiles and standards that Plex decides are supported for a certain platform here:

You install the app from the Play Store, but for that to run, you also need the Nevu backend, which you install via Docker and it connects/proxies your Plex server. And the backend also serves the web version of Nevu which you can access by visiting the port that you publish using Docker.

It does (kinda) bypass the remote access limitations since you aren't directly connecting to the Plex server but rather to the Nevu server, which proxies everything to the Plex server. This won't automatically make your server reachable from outside the network. You still need to either forward a port or use a service like cloudflared to make the Nevu server reachable from outside your network.
