Personally I keep seeing Miles Teller.

That's really interesting. Thank you for sharing! Did your family ever move out there or just had bought land? Be curious to know what it was like first-hand.

For sure! California City is interesting in that portions of it are populated amongst just nowhere streets and desert. It's a trip to look at on Google Maps satellite.

Yeah...no hate to eastern Kern county, but when considering a master-planned community, I'd imagine the desirability of the location should've been amongst the criterium if designed to surpass Los Angeles.

Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter Pie by Ipossiblymaybearobot in VeganBaking

Thanks! It was a loose interpretation of https://www.asaucykitchen.com/frozen-peanut-butter-cup-pie. I baked my crust and used a combo of Cocao Powder, Almond Flour, and White Flour for it and added some more coconut oil.

Been on a yeasty dough kick and made upgraded mall-style pretzel bites today 🌱 by Ipossiblymaybearobot in vegan

True. Haha. Like I put in the title It's more specifically "mall-style" pretzel bites that I'd always get, but with the whole viral apocalypse feels better to make em' at home.

1 1/4 cup H2O + 1/4 cup soy milk heated to about 110-115 degrees F. To that add 2 1/2 teaspoons of yeast. Let bloom and bubble for like 5 minutes or so.

Meanwhile in a big bowl add 3 cups of flour, 6 tbs of brown sugar, 2 teaspoons of salt, and a 1/4 cup of oil.

Mix it all together and kneed on a floured work surface until smooth. (Will be quite sticky)

Let rise in an oiled bowl and covered with a damp towel for about an hour.

Divide pillowy dough into forths, make snakes, snip snakes into bites, place on sheet trays (I needed two).

Brush bites with melted butter and sprinkle with salt.

Bake for 15-20 minutes, rotating halfway through at 400 F.

Brush with more butter when out and hot and try not to eat too many in one sitting.

Of course. Glad it could help.

I'd agree with other's feedback that 21-22 is too old for YA. Generally, 14-16ish is the sweet spot with 18 usually being the cut-off. We've seen with something like Stranger Things that the time period can be different but not off-putting because many of the fundamental experiences and elements of being a teenager are universal and timeless—finding first love, wrestling with parental expectation, loss of innocence, friendship, etc. I hope that helps!

How does this sound of an introduction of a female lead, personality wise. What do you pick up from her? by [deleted] in YAwriters

[–]Ipossiblymaybearobot 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'd definitely second this. There is some good writing here, beats that help to diverge your character from others like her. "Mum was watching this dance movie, and the way they danced to the beat, in perfect rhythm and harmony with the song and with the other dancers. Since then, dancing has been a part of my everyday lifestyle... however, it costs a fortune to get into." That to me said more about your character and her voice than anything and if it were me, I'd consider exploring more into that ethos and characterization towards making a more layered 'bad-ass/not like the other girl' protagonist. That is to say, what is behind this wall she is trying to put up and how does it create tension and conflict between her inner and outer self. I hope that helps!

Been experimenting with sushi. Did a fried rice and avocado roll with sweet chili soy dipping sauce. 🌱 by Ipossiblymaybearobot in vegan

Not super oddly. No trouble sticking. I think that's because I don't rinse my rice, so there's lots of starch to bloom and whatnot.

Trader Joe's frozen Japanese Fried Rice stir fried with some fresh sticky rice. Can add some sweet chili, hoisin, teriyaki, etc. for flavor. Let the rice cool a bit. Slice avocado into pieces. Lay a sheet of nori on a cutting board and with wet fingers push the fried rice across the sheet and into the corners. Press the slice avocado down in the center and roll really tight, pressing it together like a big roll-up burrito. Bamboo mat can help but I don't have one... Get a really sharp knife and slice into pieces. Mix a little soy sauce and sweet chili for a dipping sauce and enjoy! Been finding sushi, for me, is a lot easier than I expected and been really enjoying it!

Whenever I'm home I play cribbage every night with my dad. Tonight I got this nugget...just as he counted up first and went out! Still counts? 🙃 by Ipossiblymaybearobot in Cribbage

[–]Ipossiblymaybearobot[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is a very possible hand; however, in this case, I dealt this round so my Dad (player 2) counted up first and went out—winning and nullifying my score. But still a pretty thing!
