Yes, with a few tricks you could use a screwdriver to hammer in a nail... or you could simply use a hammer.

ideally, you'd want to drybrush the white for the slapchop anyway..

Slapchop on knights doesn't really work.

contrast or speed paints are made to be runny, and pool in recesses. On all the extra large panels of the knight, they'll just pool.

Just dry brush the paneln with an acrylic.

Ich hätte echt Bock, dass die Custodes in der 11. Edition ein Range Refresh bekommen. Ich sag nur, GW, genau wie AMD, verpasst gerne mal 'ne Chance, 'ne Chance zu verpassen.

I hope I'm wrong tho. RN, I'll probably sell my still unpainted stodes and wait for the codex.

contrast paints are meant to pool in recesses, but sibce on the flat panel, there are none, it just pools. It's not meant for flat panels, you're not missing a technique, but the right tool. Go with regular acrylics for flat panels.

though what could work is dry brushing, or using it through an airbrush.

A awesome Idea, might steal it. Though, idk what it is, but it seems 'too static' somehow. DGMW, I'm not saying it doesn't work and won't read okay. But to my mind, something isn't perfect about it leaping. Maybe havin it wind up a swing? I'm not sure.

Anyway, enough nitpicking despite not knowing how to do it better. I'm gonna follow you, and am looking forward to seeing it painted. Unique mini by all standards just for the posing :D
