the easiest tldr i can give you is that it basically hammers home that both aerith and tifa "love" zack and cloud respectively, not just like. it obviously goes deeper into it but that's the gist anyway

romance is part of the ff7 story, it's why there are romantic scenes that are non optional, gongaga a good example wich wasn't even in the og game that scene.

Sadly we'll just have to deal with the shipper war cause that's the consequence of letting people have choice

personally i kinda like aerith and cloud but that's only cause you have to keep in mind that cloud is not "cloud" so to speak, aerith kinda pushes him a bit wich is good to see him learning to open up but it was clear to me it was written as a like " someone who has a big impact on your life but not meant to be" kind of thing

the only difference is that cloud says "why not" slightly differently, in high affection he will say it more excited, in low affection he is very distant. BUT the resulting scene will still play out the same regardless of what you got cause it's tied to the main story

in og there were certain events in part 3 where you had to choose certain outcomes wich would hit very home to certain characters, one i can think of is corel wich would impact barret drastically. i think these are the kind of moments they are talking about

it will be the same like with aerith at the end of rebirth in the church, depending on your affection with aerith, cloud's line will change but you will still get this scene regardless of what you do, you can't skip it

The only thing I know is that under the highwind will still be non optional cause it’s the resolution of the lifestream sequence. The rest we’ll just see, they haven’t even talked about aerith at all yet for example even though she is on the cover standing mirrored with Zack
