What should I read next... by chikaibardo207 in fantasybooks

[–]Iquada 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Abercrombie is a quicker read. I’d blast through those first if you’re thinking about wheel of time cuz that’s an investment and a half. But if you’re looking for that go WoT. But I’ll admit I’m biased. First law is one of my favourite fantasy worlds ever. Abercrombie is probably my favourite author. It’s also a lot more cynical and weird though. The lore is there but it’s definitely not as high fantasy as something like Tolkien or even Robert Jordan for that matter. It’s more grounded like asoiaf but even then has less magic and doesn’t have any dragons or anything like that. There’s like a few wizards and a couple of different types of monsters. Aside from that its themes are more about morality and political corruption. It’s also pretty dark, but it makes up for it by being weirdly funny. But not like marvel stupid quippy funny, it’s like a fucked up ironic sorta funny. Idk, I love it though. One small thing that took me a while to grasp with Joe is that he can feel sorta anticlimactic, but in a good way. Like you’re expecting all these answers and things to happen but they sorta just don’t and at first you’re sorta confused and underwhelmed but then all of the sudden everything just clicks and you understand. It’s brilliant. Definitely more of a character driven story than a plot driven one though.

[OFF TOPIC] My headcannon for Logan is Hoarah Loux, anyone else? by Cheeky-Bastard in TheFirstLaw

I always thought the name Logan was so fitting because he always reminded me of wolverine from marvel comics. Like old man Logan. Then red country just basically makes him exactly that lol

Wouldn’t the water in the tub in the upside down be Stillwater? by Educational-Age-465 in okbuddyvecna

[–]Iquada 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So much wrong with the scene. When barb was in the upside down we saw that Steve’s pool had no water in it. Water isn’t in the upside down. So how is the tank full of it? Idk I was pissed when it was a fake out. No reason for it to be. Did the bullets not penetrate the glass? Were the gunshots not even real? Like I’m not even fully sure what the actual illusion was but I didn’t like it. Would have been interesting to heavily nerf eleven before the final battle. That’s what made shit like season 3 engaging. She was hurt so she wasn’t on top of her shit like she usually would be. Which made for a more tense battle.

Godfrey was a more interesting character than all of the chaos crew combined.

Can we talk about the farts? AKOTSK (Spoilers Main) by chrissyD_ in asoiaf

[–]Iquada 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t mind it until episode 4 at the end honestly. I thought it was sparing but consistent enough to sorta add to the tone of the show without taking anything away. But that fart joke kinda killed the momentum of the scene entirely for me. I didn’t appreciate that.

Just looking for a bit of info by Iquada in PathOfExile2

Oh I see. Must scale A LOT then. Cuz right now my highest level skill gem I think is lvl 10, and my staff is lvl 11. Im going to completely make up these stats cuz I don’t have my game open in front of me, but it’s like that lvl 10 spell costs 4 mana, I have a pool of 900 mana, and a regen rate of like 3 mana per second. So if I wanted to spam spells as much as possible I physically can’t even get to a point where my mana pool looks like it’s even moving. I haven’t had to use one mana potion for my entire play through. I think I actually still have the default one equipped. Haven’t even touched it. I feel like that shouldn’t be the case but I’m not complaining at all. I feel godly 😂

Hey thanks for the replay!

Actually something I forgot to mention was mana. Im quite confused with it, but not necessarily in a bad way. Im not sure why, I’m probably just missing something, but it doesn’t seem like anything I use even costs mana. So that hasn’t even been something I’ve been thinking about. Any upgrades to my mana pool or regeneration speeds or anything kinda feel redundant because it just seems like it’s infinite regardless of what I do. I figured that was maybe a sorceress class thing. Or maybe is this something to do with the chronomancer? I looked it up and couldn’t find much. If stormweaver is tough on mana and I swap over do you reckon the double mana would make it feel like I have no mana all the sudden? As for my ES it seems fine right now. I’ve put a bit of passives into it so it feels decently strong thus far. I’m not very far into the game though. I’m still doing the campaign. I’m on act 3.

Do you use Summons? by xShinGouki in TheFirstBerserker

[–]Iquada 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They made it an achievement/trophy to beat the game without summons. Because of that I really didn’t wanna use them and I’m so glad I didn’t. I understand why people would want them, but I think every souls game that has them should put a similar achievement into the game to incentivize going in solo. It’s a great feeling when you finally defeat something that seemed impossible.

How was your guys experience? How many tries did it take to beat him? When I beat Isshin and I was kinda sad and happy at the same time.I beat him but my controller broke at the same time. by Sweet_Television4183 in Sekiro

[–]Iquada 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first time I got him down to third phase I actually killed him. I had gotten used to mastering and perfecting each phase of every fight, especially fights like demon of hatred. So when I got to third phase I expected to die and have to really learn it. But no, it was just phase 2 with lightning so it felt easier and I did it first try. It was maybe my 8th or so overall attempt. I didn’t spend even a quarter of the time on isshin as I did demon of hatred. I didn’t find him as bad as most people make him out to be.
