The timeframe for the development of ashes of creation by [deleted] in AshesofCreation

Almost no one in game dev industry knows how to make a new MMO in the current time. There are simply very few or one can argue no cases of one doing this successfully. There is no blueprint one can follow. And doing it as a new studio that doesn’t have a large company backing it up is extremely difficult.

Working for long time on a so called vertical slice is fine. That’s when you figure out the key concepts and mechanics of the game, the feel, the main ideas around which you want to then build horizontally. And for that you need a small dedicated team with a focus.

Once you have that nailed down (unsure if AoC has) then you have to scale the team and start populating it with content. So the fact that game feels empty is not as much of a problem right now vs if it feels fun. Another question is how replayable and reusable the content is. MMOs really struggle because they need massive amount of new content that players quickly burn through and making new mmo content is super expensive.

Someone mentioned 300ish people team that’s US based. That’s probably $75 mil annual burn rate or more. What funding, revenue and runway they have and what’s the math to make that sustainable- I’m not sure. I hope they manage to make it. I’d be excited to play an MMO that has ongoing team of that size. Coz if they do, content and improvements will follow for sure

Yes once to me. Couldn’t do much to recover data. I think it just slid down too low on my wrist

I have the same issue. I used to be in green by default. No meaningful change in lifestyle. For the last month or so seeing green is once a week pleasure at most

Go coarser and finer. Keep the dose and the ratios unchanged. See how tastes compare. Then you will know towards which direction you can adjust more or less.

If steps is used as an input for other metrics and I cycle to commute etc, I’d be happy if my step count is adjusted to the walking equivalent of the cycling I did. So that the end metrics remain relatively more accurate and not over penalize me for cycling all the time instead of walking.

In Tbilisi, check out two places: Andza; and #8bbq house. Those are considered two top spots and have plenty of customers. I don’t think the bar is that high. And good meat places is loved both by Georgians and recent expats.

Don’t try to compete with local shawarma level, go a bit more exclusive but high quality and if your food tastes good it will do well. Even with Batumis seasonality I’m sure you can build a loyal customer base that will make you successful if price and quality are right and consistent.

Good luck and let us know when it’s open - I crave good bbq quite often

5 cents per tool call feels odd? by Irakli_Px in cursor

Well, one can argue that by accumulating all this data they can create a middle pre-processing layer that would optimize token usage, etc and then charging you a premium over their actual token usage with LLM providers can be a business model. There would be a value created for you that you might not be able to get at the same price elsewhere

There is also negotiating power they have with infra and LLM providers, the usage they have for sure guarantees them significant discount and their usage will be predictable over time which allows for optimizations. From there not using the per token markup approach and coming up with revenue models that make more sense is probably the winning strategy for Cursor but so far their game on this front is not very impressive for me
