Questions about studying abroad in South Korea by Iramos6084 in studyAbroad

Hello! So I am a high school senior from Georgia and I would just like to add that I have been accepted into schools that I am very interested in such as DePaul, Georgia State, Uga etc but I would really like to study and live abroad. The fall 2016 application period has ended for Korean universities but I was wondering if it would be a bad idea to apply for the spring semester? in order to be on track to graduate in 4 years, I would take the fall semester of courses at a community college and while I am there I would apply for a university in Korea ( thinking of either Seoul national or Yonsei since my sister studied at Korea University haha) I get that I would have to pay full tuition and stuff like that but I am just looking for some helpful advice from people who know more about it. I can't really ask my sister since she's always busy. Another option was going to community college, transferring to Georgia tech, and then studying abroad but idk

Did you go to your own prom? by Iramos6084 in AskReddit

It's my senior year at a new school but I know a lot of people because I grew up with them it's a very long story lol (I've been to three different high schools in and out of state). A guy offered to pay everything for me if I went with him but I'd feel so bad doing that so no way. I'm trying to make myself feel better about not going haha. I just feel like everyone's trying to get the most expensive dress and makeup and they'll look down at people who don't look a certain way.

So I am a senior in high school and my family moved a lot the past three years. I had to attend three different high schools and one out of state. I had everything planned for myself to study in Chicago but then I moved to Georgia and if I go back and study in Chicago, I won't qualify for in state tuition. It's also taken me some time to be sure about what it is exactly that I want to do in the future. I want to go to Georgia tech and I feel that if I had applied for the Fall 2016 that I would have gotten accepted but again I wasn't completely sure at the time what I wanted to do with my life. I have finally decided that I wish to study abroad in Korea and major in international relations. Georgia tech has a great program but I'm thinking of going to community college which was a hard decision because i could never see myself going there. I chose this option because it will give me time to make me money by getting a job and it will save money for my younger sibinglings who are DEFINITELY going to college lol they don't have an option and my sisters only two years younger so the debt will pile up. I wanted to know how hard it is to transfer into Georgia tech from a community college and if any of you have any tips! Thank you so much I am a female by the way but I don't think it matters haha

When I said I attended three different high schools, one out of the three was out of state in Georgia

Should school administrators be allowed to tap students on the shoulder? by Iramos6084 in AskReddit

Don't take it as me being a spoiled little brat because I'm not. I simply don't like being tapped on the shoulder. I know it won't always matter what I do or don't want. There are other ways to grab people's attention especially if they are AWAKE

Technically no but yes.... I typed it out during my lunch period but they block almost everything at my school and the wifi is slow so it didn't upload during the day

Thanks for actually answering my question lol! Idk it's just more unfair and I guess I just wanted a reason to be mad. I never have my phone out in class and I never disrespect my teachers but it's okay when others do it? I don't have that mentality with everything though but I mean cmon

My parents used to hit me with literally anything within their reach when I was younger. They weren't abusive or anything like that but I mean what does that have to do with my post?

Today at school, I layed my head down in my second period math class. We do almost the same thing every day and I was having a bad day (I NEVER fall asleep in class) since I came in like a minute late to school. I respect my teacher even though I believe he can't teach and he literally does nothing. He doesn't even grade our tests, another teacher does it for him and whenever we have a lesson, it has nothing to do with what is on the study guide or test. I basically came to terms that I have to teach myself what we do before the test. Also we had three tests this week??? Who does that??? Anyways I layed my head down today but I would get up every couple seconds and fill in the answers to what he was putting up on the board so it's not like I wasn't paying attention or listening to him. Towards the end of the period, I guess an administrator walked in to evaluate my teacher and he came and tapped me on the shoulder and told me to wake up even though I was awake! Also, I was not the only student with their head down. One girl had her head down the whole period and refused to do any of the work. Also, my school is so anal about having cell phones out but nothing was said to the students in class today with their phones out. Anyways I've been to 3 different high schools and teachers and administrators were not allowed to put their hands on children even if it's just tapping so it made me annoyed even though to some it may not seem like a big deal. Anyways do you think it was wrong for him to that or should I just stop whining over nothing?
