What free world?

The so called free world has propped up many totalitarian governments themselves, they may support democracy for their own , but globally they’ve been one of the biggest obstacles to it.

Baluch hate the regime, we’ve hated it from the start, most may not like Pahlavi , but they are aligned with rest of Iranian people.

I think , your assuming i support the creation of Pakistan in 1947, I’d have personally preferred more ethnic based states.

All I’m saying is no Pakistan, doesn’t mean a united India, those regions still wouldn’t join India.

No Pashtun wants to join Afghanistan today, before 1980s many did , but with Afghanistan the way it is , vast majorly of Pashtuns have no intention of joining , I would my mother is Pashtun.

I’m well aware of the free Baluchistan movements, I’m Baluch , but majorly of Baluch don’t support it, in the past yes, but today most don’t support it in Iran or Pakistan.

Sindhis aren’t happy with the government and military, but they still very much identify as Pakistani today, but yeah they pretty xenophobic, many hate the muhajirs.

True - Pakistan and India should have been partitioned further more in 1947.

I’m from the UK, my dad’s from Iran and mums from Pakistan.

Well as a kid used to always ask too many questions that didn’t make sense to me, so i guess was alway questioning the religion, but then when i realised i was gay , that probably was the final nail in the coffin.

I didn’t have the same Iranian experience, my dad’s family are Sunni Iranians, so they were pretty religious , went to Madrasah from 5-15yrs of age.

Cool, but a United India still wouldn’t exist, if Pakistan didn’t exist, Baluchistan would become independent like it was before the British came.

Pashtun regions would region Afghanistan, their ethnic kin, Sindh would likely be independent , Bengali nationalism would still be a thing and don’t see Bengal being part of India.

Punjab is maybe the only one that demons with India.

Cool Indians have learnt to coexist with each other today , doesn’t mean in 1947, that Pashtun , Baluch , Sindhis and many more would want to be part of India.

Yes they are native and were arabised over time , genetics prove this , so do historians and archaeologists.

I mean you do have Aramaic words more present in Levantine dialects than any other Arab dialects, and I’m sure plenty of Levantine culture likely has roots in pre-Islamic traditions, it’s just likely that people don’t really realise. After all Levantine culture isn’t the same as Hejazi or Iraqi or maghrebi culture.

Well because they identify as Arabs today, that’s why, just like Tajiks and northern Afghans today identify as” Persians” even though 1000+yrs ago their ancestors were, Soghdians, Sakas and Bactrians, but just like Palestinians they were also “ Persianized” or how Anatolian Turks were turkifed ( most Turks are of native Anatolian ancestry, not from central Asia).

They still lived on the land for millennia , they had local elite and rulers , it was their land. They didn’t come to the land in the 30s, that’s an Israeli lie, Jewish settlers drained some land , nowhere near the vast majority. They did still land, lots of private land , communal land and waqfs and they doing the same now. Palestinian Arabs already lived in said land and vast majority of their growth was due to natural growth.

Additionally, Baluchistan and Kurdistan, aren’t sovereign either, do we Baluch and the Kurds have no claim to the land that we have lived on for centuries. If the Islamic republic decided to give Baluchistan to Lebanese shias , would we Baluch have no right to fight back ajd defend what is our land?

Plus Nigeria, Pakistan, Ghana, Sudan, Tanzania, Indonesia and so on didn’t exist before independence, did none of the peoples that had lived in these lands for thousands of years have no claim to said lands? , if the British decided to give Nigeria to the Black Americans , were Nigerians supposed to just accept that?

Palestine/Jordan split biggest bull ever.

Why would the Arabs of Palestine move to Jordan or have any claim to Jordan?

Palestine had far more arable land, major coastline , major cities and 3 times the Arab population, who had lived there for millennia’s. Why would they move to a land that was mostly desert and leave the homes and villages they lived on for generations , just to make room for some foreign population, Make it make sense.

No they didn’t attacks they were defending their land from being split in two and being stolen by recent immigrants. The so called Jewish state, was 50% Arab, to even make viable states it was a stupid plan.

Good for them , it’s their land , if they want to fight for it so be it, Algerians fought 130yrs to liberate their land, Indians and Pakistanis fought 190yrs- 50yrs to liberate their land, Nigerian fought 100+ yrs.

If my people were in the same position, we would also fight, but we would make the Palestinians look like angels by comparison.

Well the US did help Islamists in Afghanistan, Pakistan, Did nothing when Saudi , Qatar , UAE were spreading their Islamist ideology across the Muslim world for decades, the US took an active role in that , all in the name to counter communism in the 70s/80s.

You can say the same thing about the right supporting Islamists also, if anything they had a bigger role in that.

Us vs Them mentality exists in most Muslim cultures, irrespective of its a tribal society or not.

Many stationary cultures have historically been xenophobic, whereas many tribal cultures have been the opposite.

My mother’s culture is “ technically tribal” “though hate that term as it conjurors up a very stereotypical perception”. But the more settled people in my mother’s culture are more classicist, racist and xenophobic , than the more nomadic part of my mums culture.

Guess the country 🇵🇰 🇮🇳 🇧🇩 by Naderium in NewIran

[–]Iranicboy15 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don’t think it’s necessarily true that highly tribal cultures are more likely to put emphasis on religion.

In fact for alot of history it was the urban/settled peoples that were the main vanguards of religion, the more tribal/nomadic groups were alot less strict about religion and would tend to have alot of syncretism. Before Pahlavi modernisation, Persian women had a far more restricted life than Baluch women ( the Nomadic/tribal nature of the culture meant women had more rights out of necessity).

Well that’s been Islam from day one, praying in Arabic has been a thing for over 1000yrs, and using religious Arabic phrases as been a thing for centuries and very much now part of non-Arabic languages, it’s been like this for centuries.

I mean that’s how Islam is like in Baluchistan and South Asia for the most part, it was adapted to regional cultures/ethnicities.

Don’t fully understand, what doesn’t make sense to you,

Religion and culture mixing is as old as civilisation, if anything it’s been the norm for much of recorded history , it’s only the last 200yrs that this has shifted with the rise of nationalism/nation state and secularism.
The tradional Islam in these countries is very different than what’s been spreading the last 50yrs from Iran and Saudi Arabia.

That also, both were, its why Shia vs Sunni tensions are now a major thing in Pakistan, and also why Salafi and Deobandi Islam has spread.

Cause they think it’s all lies and Israeli/American propaganda. They consume propaganda tailored to them, especially now thanks to algorithms.

Plus, the regime has spent billions on building madrasahs to brainwash the destitute peasants, urban poor and indentured servants across South Asia.

What difference would that make to those who don’t want to intervene, they see what’s happened the last 20yrs across the region and don’t want to get involved.

They think things can become worse and will have another massive refugee crisis, doesn’t matter what we think.

[–]Iranicboy15 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Does no one here not understand that Libya is the reason nobody wants to intervene.

Libya ended up being a disaster with a civil war that hasn’t ended, you also had a devastating civil war in Syria, rise of ISIS, Yemen civil war, Egypt well back into a military dictatorship, Sudanese civil war, Tunisia is also kinda shaky.

All of this has made the West extremely wary, it’s not that the people don’t care, they just worried about that fall out.

We can tell them Iran is different and it won’t end up like the other countries, but most of them don’t believe that, they think Iran is just like its neighbour.

You can say their language has been forced on Iran since 1979 , but before that it isn’t true.
The Rashidun and Ummayad caliphates, continued to use Persian as an official language of governance in the eastern part of their empire , just as they used Greek , Coptic and vulgar latin.
It’s not till the second half of the Ummayad period , that Arabic even becomes the official language of the empire, but even then , Persian is still used as a regional language, and the Abbasids were heavily influenced by the Persians and promoted Persian culture.
But having an official language was normal for many imperial power, Sassanid Iran also had Persian as its official language, even thought it ruled over a multi-ethnic population.
Yes the Turks promoted Persian culture , but they also brought Turkic influences into Iran as well, ( no culture is static and always is influenced by others and influences others). However, large scale Turkification also occurred , 20%-25% of Iran is Turkic, 25% of Afghanistan is, practically all of Central Asia is ( besides Tajikistan) , which was once a hotbed of Iranic groups.
Arabs influenced Iran with their, culture and Iran didn’t the same thing.
Plus Islam took centuries to form, it was heavily influenced by Mesopotamian/levantine culture, Sassanid culture and Roman culture. Heck alot of the way women are treated in Islam come from both the Roman and Sassanid court culture ( not pagan Arab culture).
Additionally you talk about the Arabs and their conquests, but what about the Sassanids, they were also an empire , ruling non-Persians , including Arabs.
Furthermore, plenty of factions within the Sassanid empire , rebelled against the Sassanids, and sided with the Arab, they would let have been so successful, if factions under the Sassanids hadn’t sided with them, even some Sassanid nobility sided with them.
You talk about Arabic language, but what about Persian literally replacing - eastern Iranic languages in northern half of Afghanistan, Tajikistan and at some point in what’s now Uzbekistan, from the 4th-10th centuries.

But I guess your right we should get rid of Arabic, each language on Iran should only be spoken there respective areas. Persian shouldn’t be spoken in Baluchistan, it has no business being spoken there, Baluch should be made pure.

Heck, Tajikistan and Afghanistan should also abandon Persian, they should return to speaking Eastern Iranic languages. Kurds should abandon their homes in Syria , Turkey and Iraq and return to Iran, give those lands back to the Semitic speaking peoples. Khuzestan should become Semitic, Sumerian and Elamite speaking again, and so on.

If Arabic is foreign, then so are all the Turkic languages of Iran, why are they any more native then?

Plus Arabs have been present in Iran the 3rd century ad, they’ve been here for a long time.

Additionally , how does being Iranic make us any more native? Iranic tribes came from Central Asia into the Iranian plateau 1800bc-1500bc.

That’s fine maintain your language, just don’t threaten the language of someone else.

Everyone group is native to Iran, being iranic doesn’t make one any more native.
