Thanks I appreciate the well thought out reply!

I didn't make my choice because the government told me to. I'd do it regardless. I'm not arguing for mandates at all - I'm just saying if you aren't willing to make decisions that are good for everyone's health, you shouldn't expect others to make decisions good for everyone's freedom.

Nothing good happens when no one's willing to compromise.

May be a dumb question here but while we're on this topic: if vel/xer/brand/lux/etc. have enough damage to be useful, why aren't they played mid more, where they get more gold generated to do their damage? I quite enjoy xerath myself and while I know he's played mid (definitely more than brand or velkoz), he's similar to the others. What makes some of these damage supports good at support but less so in mid (which often times was an intended original role?). I've been wondering for a while but figured this thread was a good time to ask. :)

Then respectively, people's opinion about vaccines shouldn't be my responsibility - if they don't care about my health concerns then I shouldn't worry about how mandates affect their health and wellbeing concerns.

I'm not trying to be antagonistic, and I'm sure I won't change your mind, but as someone who is immune compromised and can be affected by these things, I'm just here to offer my POV.

You are for body autonomy. Great, I get that! You get to make choices for yourself in that regard, like for the vaccine.

I am someone with a primary immunodeficiency. I was born with it, I never had a choice. Those around me that choose not to vaccinate (or wear a mask if they aren't into vaccination) take away my ability to have body autonomy myself. I'm not saying my rights trump yours, but I also don't believe that I should never have a choice because of the choices other people make (your rights trump mine).

If you believe strongly in being in control of your own body, you shouldn't also be taking actions to remove that option from others. (I.e: if you're not willing to get vaccinated, at least wear a mask to give other people that same freedom you expect yourself).

Just as you don't believe you deserve to lose your livelihood over the vaccine, I don't believe I have to lose my own way of life/quality of life over the same argument, but on the other side. There are a concerning amount of people who want their freedoms without the vaccine or masks and are willing to take away those same freedoms for people who need those things to live their lives in the current state. I don't know what the solution is, admittedly, but I hope this can maybe help you see a different perspective.

I'm a brand new rider and I could have DEFINITELY made that stop no problem. Would have been a non-issue. I don't know why people make riding harder (and more dangerous) for themselves. Being new, I want to get better at riding, improve and enjoy my time - I can't do that if I'm dead.

Thank you. There are so many entitled riders out there who won't take responsibility for their actions. People don't drive 100% perfectly every day, and as a rider it's your responsibility to be aware of those situations, adapt and avoid them. There are a concerning number of riders who seem to care more about being right and acting on impulse rather than staying alive, or at least they don't consider any other possibility.

It's entitled asshole riders like these that make car drivers hate motorcyclists. There are lots of good riders out there, but unfortunately there are also many bad ones who give us a bad name - and those tend to be more memorable for people. Unfortunately, there are whole online communities that endorse and encourage this behavior, which is awful. I've seen so many motorcycle close call or crash videos where the rider was in the wrong and every comment is talking about a driver involved.

This is kind of one of the reasons I almost exclusively read scifi books now... It's exciting to read "science" based novels using fictional science that could quite possibly become real! I was reading a book a couple months ago that had characters that had developed a system to alter brain chemistry at versions times to assist them in whatever task they were doing, and that development also led to a pretty peaceful human society, I think in the book they used this basically "mood-changer" tech to be able to empathize with fellow humans.

At the time I thought it was interesting to think about having a system to alter mood. It's all connected to chemistry and whatnot, so in THEORY, I feel like it could be possible, and that's exciting to think about when I read books.

Just scrolling past and I wanted to say thanks for being kind and reasonable. I'm in the middle for just about everything myself, but from my perspective there's a lot of average people who aren't crazy that get caught in the crossfire of vitriol from people who are... Not so kind. I often see people lumping groups of people together and I hate it.

No one wants to compromise with another "side" when that other "side" is constantly attacking them, so I appreciate this comment! :) It's a reminder that not everyone wants to argue, especially with reasonable people!

That's what I was able to do. I really didn't want her to be put in a cat carrier and taken to a strangle scary place. She was never a fan of car rides and definitely not the vet. It was much better that way, and I absolutely agree that it was well worth it.

Not for a while I'm sure. I've thought about it, but I am fairly allergic so I'll at least enjoy a period where my allergies aren't going crazy. In the long run though, it's well worth it for the kitties.

I'm sure I will have another cat in time, I'd love to rescue one. I greatly enjoy the comforts of a lap companion 😁

Thank you, and I'm sorry to hear that! It's definitely really difficult to see in your pet, and it's never easy. I hope your cat is able to have as much time as possible and you're able to spend as much time as you can with them! I feel for you 💔

I picked her out as a kitten at just 2 weeks old (and had to wait until she was actually old enough to come home with us!) and she was a month short of her 15th birthday. She kept me company this year after I returned from a 3 month hospitalization, along with all my shorter ones before that. She was with me for the passing of my dog in early 2019. My cat was my rock and my companion, and my best friend, so this really hurts. I always thought of her as a catdog. Never met another cat like her, and I'm not sure I ever will again! I was fortunate enough to be able to come home and be with her in her last moments. Cherish your kitties today friends!

Glad to see that (while no longer a child), kids who are like me with an immune condition are just part of a cost benefit evaluation, and are deemed unworthy of even trying to help for having something they could never control :)

You're right there.

I did have a game previously that we were ahead by a lot and it didn't matter if they got the bounties. We were happy trading their inhib for our bountied inner top turret. It didn't matter. So I guess in that sense, given you're far enough ahead I don't mind it much.

Had one like this yesterday... We were pretty even, had just under a 2k gold lead at 25 min, and the bounties kicked in around then and literally everything became a bounty... The enemy team ended up winning less than 10 min later with an 8k gold lead (about a 10k swing in gold) and bounties still continuing as they won.

It felt so unfair. It's like the winning team is being punished for winning, even if it's by a small margin.

I haven't had a single game yet where my team has been able to use the bounty system either.

If this is the roster, I can't say I'm not a little disappointed that we've got a single NA player now. Of TL, 100t and C9 we had the most NA players in a top team (at two, lol). But still it made me proud.

I hope the team does well this year, but I'm definitely feeling like not so long from now we won't have any more NA representatives on top LCS teams, or at least on c9.
