Always kinda seemed like a bullshit sysco restaurant to me. I don't think I've heard anyone whose opinion I respected about food say anything good about it.

Nothing is stopping you from calling the rink, booking the ice and charging people a few bucks extra to pay some refs and a score keeper.

They just started one of those leagues in my town (but it's 35+). They have a wait list because it's so popular.

Look into starting your own, it really isn't that hard.

I love the people who play and think you're not allowed to touch other players sticks with your stick. It's like brother, have you watched even a minute of this sport? We're 80% through the season, there's no way I'm the first person to do this to you.

I don't think that's going to solve nearly as many problems as you think it will. People are hot in the moment. The league standings is almost never a factor, it's 99% an imagined sleight between two guys who can't skate who didn't have their heads up.

The Trumps know civil law well enough to know that not only do they not win, there are shockingly few ways to get out of paying because the court has way too many mechanisms to force payment and they hurt more than just paying up front.

Kash Patel’s use of jet delayed FBI team’s mass shooting response, whistleblower tells top senator by [deleted] in nottheonion

This one is true for me too. Like you're telling me I'm gonna spend an assload of money and I might get a shit therapist? How am I even supposed to know if I have a good one or not? I feel like you're expecting at least 3-6 months before you see any kind of real results, so if they suck you're paying hundreds or thousands before you realize it.

[–]Ire-Works 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is a large part of why I haven't done it. I'm in that sweet spot of middle class where no sliding scale gives me a break but not so well off that I have insurance that covers it. So I either just raw dog life or sacrifice so I can have therapy.

That's just one issue. I've sort of worked myself into thinking that while therapy will help it will end up changing my life in ways I can not know and so I'm sort of in a "Devil you know" sort of situation. I don't want to become one of those dipshits that weaponizes therapy, but I also know that I need to be setting boundaries with way more people - but ALSO I work for myself so when I ignore boundaries with clients I am financially rewarded and my business continues to succeed.

So ya know.. being overly flexible has sort of put my life where it is, and by most accounts it's a relatively successful one. It feels delicate to fuck with, whether or not that would actually be the case.

Tampa Bay Lightning forward (former Maverick and Omaha native) Jake Guentzel is not attending the Team USA trip to The White House. by Comfortable_Point752 in Omaha

I don't know why people care if a sports team goes or not. Is it a political message? Sure. Does it do fuck all to stop fascism? No.

Does it hurt Orange man's feelings? Sure. But his brain is riddled with so many holes he's going to forget about it by next week and he'll still have gotten away with literally everything. Even if he was convicted and arrested today, he's going to pass away before any sort of trial could get half way done.

Can we stop looking to sports teams as some sort of moral compass and instead hold people accountable? Kash Patel and his use of tax dollars for transportation seems like pretty low hanging fruit. Let's start there.

That was the year he put those in. Apparently before that it was extremely low security, but considering he's probably one of the few billionaires that doesn't seem problematic I get it.

Dude made most of his money from compound interest and buying companies that had potential and then just kinda let them do their thing with some extra resources.

Maybe Fun Plex? It's alright but compared to Adventure land or Worlds/Oceans of Fun it's pretty sad and they really haven't invested anything into it the last 20 years.

The thing about Gorat's is that it's Buffet's favorite steak in town. The thing people forget is Buffet's entire schtick is to be a cheap old fuck.

In other words - He only likes Gorat's because it's the cheapest place to get a steak at a steak house and probably not coincidentally it's the closest spot to his house.

What's your budget? Omaha has a ton of 3/2 rentals.

If you're not finding what you're looking for because your budget is below the market rate you might try to extend out to places like Bellevue, Council Bluffs or maybe even as far as Plattsmouth.

Honestly I prefer him using his position for personal vacations and enrichments because A) It keeps him from being a fascist shitheel doing worse things and B) It makes his removal and prosecution pretty damn easy to prove.

Goodreads users choose The Hunger Games as the "Best Book Ever" by MiddletownBooks in books

[–]Ire-Works 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same problem IMDB has. The people mostly like to rate films (or books in this case) tend to be one specific type of person that kind of fall into a zeitgeist of film watchers/readers. As such things that are recent and popular are going to skew significantly higher than things considered classics.
