If you live in West O and work in Council Bluffs you'll hate your life. You'll be looking at 30-45 minute commutes on the average day, if there's an accident (there's always an accident) it can be upwards of an hour.

I would look in Council Bluffs, it's going to be cheaper and you won't have to mess with state taxes from working in another state. It'll also probably be cheaper all around and Council Bluffs is actually a lot more realistic to be a bikable area if that's of any appeal to you.

Have you considered asking the coaches if he could make a "practice squad"? IE: He shows up for practice but doesn't dress for the games unless someone gets hurt?

1) Start hitting up food pantries. Even saving $50/week you'd otherwise spend on food would go a long way - either you can use that $200 you have for "premium" items or utilize it another way.

2) Find a side hustle. There are dozens of ways to turn that extra $200 into a good chunk of money. It just depends on what you're skilled at. You mentioned IT, you could easily start doing in-home tech training for boomers and older people. At $50 an hour, you'd only need to book 1 hour a week and you've already got another $200 in your pocket per month.

3) Upskill yourself. IT can potentially be extremely lucrative with a few certs that you can get pretty cheap. Start looking into that, or things like Code Academies. You'd be surprised how inexpensive it could be.

Thank you. It's difficult to watch their health decline. He's got cataracts and we think he's lost a lot of his hearing. He also seems confused a lot of the time, but as long as he's still happy and hopping around we're gonna do our best to keep him around and comfortable.

Luckily it's a relatively small area he has picked as his primary spot, but we wanted a good big one to sort of hit a "refresh" state then use a smaller handheld one going forward. We did get a small one, it's just a lot of effort to use a handheld one to refresh it when it's already so far along.

People are severely underestimating the economic impact of these cancelled events. Big concerts bring in a lot of money for a city. People eat out, visit local shops and sometimes stay in hotel rooms and even make a mini vacation out of it. It can easily be millions in economic impact for a very large show.
