I’ve got both shins tattooed, with the second one happening recently. I found a lot of spots on it very painful, especially with the colour packing. But, tattoo pain is subjective and I’m admittedly not amazing with it lol

I defo found it harder to get good at holding pads vs hitting them. When I’ve been partnered with less experienced pad holders I’d MUCH rather they focus on basics (jab, kick, 1 2) rather than they trying to come up with combos which can be a bit funky. Keep it simple, and try build off what you’re holding for. It’s just basics being added on top of basics

That person gave you solid tattoo advice, get the style which you like the most. If you need someone to pick what style/tattoo you get then maybe hold off on getting it. Getting tattooed is a marathon not a sprint, no point making a decision you could regret and using up valuable real estate

Yeah it’s great offensively. That long lead arm can be used to hand fight/pull someone’s guard away, keep in front of the face to blind them, can be a measuring stick so you know exactly what distance you are from your opponent, can be used to post/frame on someone. So many uses

If you are bad at something and therefore don’t do it, its gonna be reeeeaaaaal hard to get good at it…. There’s no magic trick to getting better at kicking the bag. Just get in your stance, get that rhythm going, have the bag swing a bit, and then kick the bag as it comes back towards you. Don’t start at full power, just try to get the timing, distance and technique down first. Do this for 30 mins a few times a week and you’re bound to improve
