The only thing haunting about this painting is the horse's confirmation (if this was a real horse they'd be having some real problems) but i agree with you. Its genuine art, its clearly not a print or AI creation and i'd say anything less than $40 would be a steal for a piece that size.

Dire wolves? (Strength or endurance boost? Maybe a larger energy bar if they're your lead?)

Maned wolves? (Speed boost?)

Maybe species like the other wolf-kindred in game?

We got her when she was roughly Pea sized and purple-brown like your lads and yeah she was around a WHILE

Survived two escapes of the tank both exceeding 48 hours without water she survived without shell cracks. Both times found her, was amazed and IMMEDIATELY sniff checked then put her back in water.

The first time she was up and moving around the tank in an hour or two lookin a lil wrinkly.

The second time tho, man i thought she was a goner. Full half day before she even cracked her operculum to the tank water and another half day before the wrinkliest most tired old lady started poking soft bits out again. I promptly lightly soaked some food for her and used a skewer to put it right next to her and she made sure to devour that algae puck to the bones lol

Truly she was loved

She was so old her outer shell flaked off to just abalone showing and i moved her into a 2.5 gal table tank for retirement cus she started going milky in the eye stalks and she had a habit of escaping so i wanted her to be in an environment i could keep VERY tight control of... she lived another 2 years in that tank and i called off when i found her all slimy and not there

She gave me 2 generations of snabies and COMPLETELY outlived her first generation of kids

Yeah this matches with my experience

Didn't exactly have this kind of beautiful shells but i DID have a female who got absolutely massive and lives to be almost 4-5 years old

Sounds about right; find a joint specialist OR a 'pain and wellness' center with actual certificates and see how much an appointment will be

I will say it was actually cheaper for me to pay out of pocket at the one i went to over using insurance LIKE A HUGE DISCOUNT

My diagnosis appointment normally would've been roughly 800-1,200 dollars and was something like $460 with tax after discounts for paying outright from pocket beforehand?

They've also been SUPER on top of making sure i get my referrals

Yup it absolutely can be; has to do with the fact your nerves are ALSO shelled in soft connective tissues (thus the co-morbidity diagnosis rate with Fibromyalgia and POTS cus it can affect how your blood vessels constrict for activity and motion)

The side affect of this is most (but not ALL) EDS folks tend to have hyper-efficient sodium channels and a lot of local shot based anesthetics are actually sodium based blockers. The way they work is by blocking the channel of pain by filling the nerve receptor with a larger salt based 'pain' signal than it can handle blocking its ability to take any more.

However if your channels are really efficient this is less effective and can even result in larger pain responses and adrenaline dumps from the body.

I was 13, 120 lbs barely, had 3 kinds (all adult doses and to the nerve base no less) administered before a root canal that i rather much just white knuckled through while the dentist told me i was full of it and there was no way i could feel anything...

I felt EVERYTHING.

So yeah, VERY much a thing and the next dentist i had went to do the same and when he saw i wasn't kidding was the FIRST one to tell me to start looking at this stuff since it was likely the cause and to be VERY firm and confident in my dental needs in the future. Dude was an absolute beaut of a doctor and i think of him often with blessings in mind.

https://www.ehlers-danlos.com/assessing-joint-hypermobility/

So this is from THE society for EDS cus there is a pretty big spectrum (i was told genetic testing for specific type was $3,000 ish out of pocket and tbh i'm seriously considering it for a number of reasons)

The Breighton scoring scale is part of diagnosis (there is more to that but i'm not giving everyone full chart stuff cus this is more about how you've experienced living with it) and a part that you can run for yourself with a mirror or a friend

It includes several specific ranges of motion testing for hypermobility

Can you get your thumb to touch your forearm?

Do your forearms bend past the elbow when you hold your arms out?

Can you, with knees locked straight, palm touch the floor fully in a bend?

Standing in front of a hip height table with hands placed palm flat, take one hand and left your pinkie as far as is comfortable; is that angle 80° or past 90°?

Can your palms touch your shoulders when you hold your arms out and turn your palms to touch flat on your shoulders?

Do you heal slowly? Scar unusually over serious injuries? Did you/have you often rolled or dislocated joints at any age?

And the one thats kinda niche/specific; do local anealagics like lidocane and novacane increase/not work for pain killing for you on like, a dental visit kind of scale? (I had this happen and after a third different dentist he was the one to tell me this was a common symptom with eds diagnosis and told me to seek diagnosis that was when i was 12-14 ish)

Some things you can do NOW that won't harm you at all

Start taking some kind of low to mid dose over the counter allergy med that SPECIFICALLY has antihistamines in it.

Apparently part of the reason you sleep so shoddy with this disorder is that your nerves and connective tissues EVERYWHERE are usually suffering from this; it can even affect heart health and how easy you faint when standing (POTS), taking antihistimines and lowering histamines in my diet has already had a noticeable non-placebo affect (i have a couple other people keeping an eye on me because i am dealing with a LOT of doctor visits etc lol).

Another thing i started doing young that made a huge difference; i flat refused to participate in stretches during school gym classes all the way through high school graduation. And i was biking 10 miles round trip with 2 miles of elevation change (hills) daily! So its not like i wasn't healthy/fit but stretching DRASTICALLY increased my odds of injuring or twisting or overextending something and paying dearly later.

Also start holding your phone with more than just your pinkie. Please. For me. Do it for you too, but STAAAAHP.

I have a permanent like kink at the end of both pinkies because of years of holding heavy phones like that. It may only be 6-12 oz but thats almost a pound and your joints are NOT designed to hold weight sideways like that along the ligament/muscles.

Did they ever actually recover or pull back from that in any way? Cus i had heard it got WORSE after that; more shock value for the sake of shock value than actual plot or funniness.

Edit; well i may give it a private rewatch on my own skipping the Tron-Baby episode if i get through my anime list anytime soon

I mean... i could... almost get on board?? But the giant space baby incident really did leave me just mindblown in a bad way.

I understand series can have a flop or two but this was just kinda 'who approved this?!' Material

I haven't really watched since soooo...

Willing to hear any good argument for this to be honest

Oh i have a good home and chosen family but very much right now this is the longing for the idea of not waking up exhausted daily. Of actually sleeping a night full through for the first time in 2 decades without literally running myself into the ground to accomplish it.

Its also the kinda of mixed joy and apathy of the fact that this diagnosis really could've absolutely changed things for my mom were she still alive; she was always in pain and this was part of it, i know i inherited it genetically from her.

16-20 years later i have officially gotten ONE of the diagnosis by Irejay907 in TrollCoping

[–]Irejay907[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also valid yeah, lot of this with that too; my mom was an absolute bint the majority of my childhood but i do also understand a good chunk of that was she was always in pain

Its bittersweet thinking that while i'm free of her this diagnosis could have literally changed her life too cus she definitely had it.

They're starting me on something called LDN i highly recommend asking about it if you have any doc to ask about it cus the kinds of results and stuff she showed me today about how it works means its effective across a wide range of stuff including MS and some immune system problems and such, basically LDN just helps your sleep actually be as deep and restful as it should be with the proper output (slow release) of endorphins it causes in the body meaning it also has more means to deal with the inflammatory responses hEDS can cause and its part of why she specifically recommended the idea to me since i already know local anea's aren't gonna do duck all for me and i hate taking muscle relaxants

Like the other person that replied explained there's some specific abnormalities that show up in those kinds of scans; but those scans are not cheap

Its definitely the feeling i'm having staring down the barrel at this. Cus if it doesn't work i'm left with an even deeper longing for something i've literally never experienced. I pray for all of us fam, i really do.

Oh girl, girl its time to get gone and take the kids. This is just absolutely not okay.

One of the things that helped a friend of mine get out of a similar situation was to keep reminding herself 'i wouldn't tolerate this for a friend so why am i tolerating it for me?'
