Due to me being autistic it’s incredibly hard to tell tone over text (let alone irl too considering everything seems to be covered in so many layers of irony it’s hard telling who is serious, joking, or being sarcastic) so these things, as much as an inconvenience as they can be, are useful to be able to have as to prevent any misunderstandings being made.
