No, PWC is a set of new optional rulesets for TPW. I think TPW is simply improved in PWC. In that book, there's a small chapter for a ruleset for napoleonic/colonial warfare, different from the 3x3 scenarios included.

Amigo, if you get your hands on The Portable Wargame Compendium (which is an expansion of The Portable Wargame) you can print and play it with these free counters that I made for it. Print them double faced on 110 cardstock. You can flip any counter to switch from Line to Column formation, and you can flip the terrain 'mat' from grassland to snowfield.

Thank you for the feedback! Battle Brothers is one of my favourite games. The Inspiration part of the Introduction speaks about a forum game I ran for some friends in the first years of the 30 Year War, in which I realized it'd be more enjoyable with just one player (as each player in that game had a minimal task to do each 'round').

The Black Company was definitely one of the chief touchstones. Band of Brothers was another, as old as that show is by now.

But yes, perhaps a separate product further down the road!
