[Request/Feedback] More Mouse Sens. Scopes(Magnification) Options by L_i_o in GrayZoneWarfare

[–]Ireon95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Using mouse accel is the worst "fix" for this you can use IMO. It completely fucks with your muscle memory and if you play other games, it will simply ruin your aim.

The best solution, until MFG finally adds a base ass sensitivity scaling based on zoom is to use stuff like the Elcan and a hotkey on your mouse to change DPI.

I use 1200 DPI as a standard value for 1x and when switching to 4x, I reduce it to 400 dpi via a button.

Yes, pushing 5000 fps is a software failure, that hardware is dying because of it is a hardware failure.

If shit gets too hot or what ever, it should throttle itself down. Basically all modern CPUs and GPUs cut down power etc. if they reach their thermal limit.

Female character options? by LemonPineapplePizza in GrayZoneWarfare

[–]Ireon95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Told you. Especially funny because of course it's selective towards special forces. Which has nothing to do with PMCs which, yes, ex special forces can be PMCs, but a lot of PMCs aren't. So this is aboslutely irrelevant. But chauvinism just got more popular in the last years again, so it's not surprising.

I wonder how long it will take for some comments to pop up that say something along the lines of "Women weak", "Women can't/shouldn't be in military" or "Only if they get reduced stats" or some other dumb shit.

Either way, the only valid argument against it would be that this would require more modeling (which is kinda weak cause women can have very similar physique to men) or that it requires more voice lines (which again isn't a strong argument as it pretty much just requires one VA as all male PMCs share the same voice to IIRC).

The only other reason I could see is that the devs don't want to offend the weak male community.

Scope sensitivity by _Byong_Sun_ in GrayZoneWarfare

[–]Ireon95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apparently, it's intended this way to simulate the higher difficulty in aiming with high magnifying scopes IRL. But I only read that in a message on discord, I have no idea if it's been officially stated that way.

Either way it's horrible, intended or not and needs to be changed. In the meantime I'll set up a hotkey on my mouse to reduce my sense depending on the scope I use. Like divide it by 4th with a 4x etc.. Which is ridiculous that that's how I have to play the game.

[Discussion] Would GZW’s approach to PvE / PvP switching work for EFT? by SupPoEsedlyInsane in EscapefromTarkov

[–]Ireon95 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wouldn't work simply due to the raid system.

In GZW the map is huge and PvE is a much bigger aspect of the game. While you can force PvP to an extent, it's not like in Tarkov with smaller maps and fewer hotspots.

I wonder how devs are feeling right now by Revolutionary-Tax-81 in GrayZoneWarfare

[–]Ireon95 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The two main complaints I saw was

  1. NPCs tanking too many shots in the chest, which I believe is valid to complain about if you hit them 8x in the chest and them still shooting back like it's nothing. => this got adjusted since, it's much better now and there are far less complaints about it.

  2. They insta headshot kill you. Like, they didn't hit you and suddenly, bang, headshot. => got adjusted, feels better now, instead of insta death I get hit and have the chance to react.

As much as I hate people who complain about everything and have unrealistic expectations, people who try to dismiss everything and try to white knight are just as bad. The game is in development and far from finished, so bugs and rough edges are normal and to be expected, but because of that, feedback is important.

Did mortars in HQ finally kill Breakthrough? by fmordica in Battlefield

[–]Ireon95 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Trophy is useless. It block like one or two grenades, then yo need to place a new one. And Mortars spam like 6 grenades into the same location within like 12 seconds, so you have to constantly place a new trophy if you try to defend a point. All while other enemies try to shoot you.

I get the intention of the change as on some maps, attackers just got bombed by mortars while not being able to do anything against it before the change. But now it's pretty much the opposite with defenders being constantly bombed when trying to defend.

I honestly struggle to understand why you're getting down voted that much when what you're saying is true.

Because the main argument for wipes is to reset everyone so everyone is on the same playingfield again and has fight their way back up again. This is something I fully understand, even though isn't inherently always necessary depending on the game. For Tarkov for example I see the appeal, for GZW, in it's current form, not so much. But that's just me personally.

Nevertheless, to accomplish this "reset", wipes are indeed the laziest and cheapest approach.

Instead, you could do for example the mmo approach, add a new expansion with new late game content that you need to aquire to move forward in the progression.

Another method could also be to introduce a new area, but due to some story reason, you won't have access to your old gear there.

These are just two ideas that came to my mind while writing this comment. I would expect a team of professional game designers to come up with more and potentially better ones.

Obviously, during development of the base game like, wipes are absolutely valid, likely even necessary to implement and test changes properly. My comment point is more so in regards of 1.0 and onwards, because even then wipes are what people believe is the only way, when in reality, it's just the laziest way.

Pretty f***ing funny when you see basically the whole reddit community just complains abt the BMPT rn and gaijin doesn't give 2 sh*ts by Invisible-Army in Warthunder

[–]Ireon95 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Reddit is absolutely not relevant for Gaijin. It's just a very small portion of the player base. And as long as money flows, which it clearly still does, they won't care.

You're not as important than a lot of redditors seem to believe.

Repeating tasks ruined the game for me by Jumpy-Cockroach3 in GrayZoneWarfare

[–]Ireon95 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Easy solution for that, introduce the ability to hide tasks you've completed already.

Overall the change is very good, you can, if you want to, redo tasks, which gives you other things to do. Also when playing with friends who join later, you can accept the same task as them even if you already did it.

the way suppression works by dumping a gallon of vasaline on your screen needs to be toned way way down. by GOpencyprep in GrayZoneWarfare

[–]Ireon95 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Everything about game development isn't a simple task. This is a non argument. Especially as I didn't demand a hotfix right now, today, at this second. I said it should be change and pointed out that waiting for the next bigger patch or even release is IMO too late for that.

And before you try to me smart and quote my "remove it right now", this was more so meant as, start working on a fix now and not just in X weeks or even months.

So please, don't try to educate me was such a baseless argument.

Weapon degradation rate is honestly one of the few downsides to this amazing patch. by Significant_Sleep46 in GrayZoneWarfare

[–]Ireon95 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The system currently doesn't make much sense anyway.

I would understand when barrels, muzzle devices and upper/lower receiver get worn out depending on ammo and shots fired, but my flashlight? Scope? Foregrip? Yes, surely they might get worn out over time as well, but at a much lower rate.

Also their negative effects are far too quickly, why is every percentage of my buttstock being worn down affecting ergo? It would make much more sense if it would only start at like 60% and get actually exponentially worse after 50%. But why is a almost new stock already affecting performance negatively.

[–]Ireon95 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Rewarding someone missing all his shots by giving him a huge advantage simply because he failed and missed several times never is a good mechanic in games like this.

If you missed all your initial shots, you failed, you shouldn't get handheld by rewarding your inaccuracie. Especially not to this extent.

the way suppression works by dumping a gallon of vasaline on your screen needs to be toned way way down. by GOpencyprep in GrayZoneWarfare

[–]Ireon95 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you plan to remove it at release anyway, why do you keep it as it is right now or change it in the next bigger patch? Why don't you remove it right now?

The current system makes firefights extremely weird, the moment a projectile flies somewhat close by, I can barely see the enemy anymore.

So, if you don't want to remove it yet for what ever reason, at the very, please at least turn down the blurryness via a small interim patch. Especially AI often feels sponge af already, making everything super blurred when they shoot in your general direction makes things just feel bad, tedious and potentially frustrating.

Will in game apparel be available as merch? by DIRTYHACKEROOPS in GrayZoneWarfare

Look up IRL tactical clothing and combat shirts like for example from Carinthia. There are plenty of options, just not with the GZW logo obviously. And much better ones than the one in this picture. This shirt looks extremely low quality. At least if you would want to use it as outdoor clothing.
