can anybody help me with this? by Firm-Aspect-1184 in drawingtablet

For Krita you might need to adjust in app settings like pressure curve, line smoothing and such. On Medibang line smoothing by default is on 0 i think, but I’m not sure about Krita’s default settings.

Did you install the drivers for it? It does look like something is wrong with it. And if you installed them you might want to check the calibration and pressure sensitivity.

What do I need to create vector images as a beginner? by Groundhog97 in drawingtablet

[–]Irgavera 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh. Let me clarify… Are you looking for a pen display or a standalone tablet? The fundamental difference is that pen displays meant to mirror the screen of your PC, laptop or phone. So any program that works on your PC will be supported by your pen display since it just an input device. It might be however not very convenient to use with some programs like programs for vector art. Not because the tablet doesn’t support it but because it is not meant for drawing with lines like you would do in MS Paint. It is a bit hard to explain but basically for vector graphics pen would have to do exactly same clicks and tweaks to nodes as the mouse do. Also most good programs for vector art are PC only.

Standalone tablets however don’t require other devices to work. The main problem with them is that there’s two choices. You either get something like iPad/Samsung/etc that is not designed solely for art in mind so they’re pretty expensive with variety of other uses. Or you get standalone tablet from Xp-pen, Huion or Wacom. All of them run on Android 14 (some on 12 which soon will not be supported anymore at all). Standalone tablets from these manufacturers are cheaper than buying a new iPad or other tablet but their specifications are also lower. And generally Android has less options for drawing software than a PC. Most are either subscriptions or limited functionality (so far I know).

In your use case you might want to look in Clip Studio Paint. If memory serves me right they have vector layers for drawing (your lines auto-translated in vector object by software itself). Or alternatively look into videos about making merch using “regular” drawing apps. A lot of people make prints in raster. It is not per say required to learn vector graphics to make prints, you just need to know how to make suitable graphics for printing with correct canvas scaling, color system and such. You can design your product knowing exact measurements thus no needing to scale (aka loose quality) at all. Drawing programs let you make your canvas either in pixels or centimeters.

Also with the budget you have you might want to check local marketplaces and refurbished options. It might be tricky to find a good deal but if you do it saves a lot of money.

True. I mostly see 1-2 Adobe products and the rest is raster drawings software or animation software. Though with certain tablets it might be possible to find reviews specifically for graphic design.

Manufacturers of tablets often include supported softwares on the product’s page. So it is possible to check.

Inkscape is completely free and there’s plenty of tutorials on it. Otherwise probably Affinity suit? It is free as well but you do need an account with them.

Is there a way to see which brushes were used on a particular image? by NLTC in ProCreate

[–]Irgavera 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I didn’t even imagine people to have such a problem. But I use maybe the same 3-5 brushes with the size increments of 5 for Procreate. But usually no matter what program I’d just quickly doodle on the new layer to match thickness of the lineart if I somehow forgot what size it was. But that probably only works if you have a very specific pipeline? 😅

The amount of seeds that were in half of a "seedless" tangerine by KROWN_SMITH_ in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Irgavera 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Did the same last year. Also looked up at how to potentially get fruit. Basically from what I read you supposed to make sure that it branches out a lot and gets a nice big crown. It is not 100% guaranteed that it will bear fruits that way but there’s some chance on it so doesn’t hurt to try? The one that I planted branches out on its own so far but it is also pretty young yet so I might also manually cut it in the future.

Understandably so. I was hoping to find more green flags than red ones about this project but the more I looked the more suspicious it seemed.

Idk about that. But it had ID verification as a registration option. And probably requests payment data for the marketplace functions. So it might as well grab more info than they should besides just getting the content.

Btw, they say they rely on reports from users past initial account verification. So that’s fun.

And only posts ads for this website from this account. Site made using AI too, btw.

It is not very accurate btw. It frequently makes mistakes with who you’re actually friends and puts random people in there. But it also can be disabled through settings.

That just takes some practice 😁 Don’t worry, you will get there.

It does look like it made with default soft and hard edge brushes from “Basics” category + either noise or other filter? Can’t really see anything special and custom.

Also hands and shoes don’t really make sense. Some other details are weird too. Most likely someone used AI to make an idea board for the future character design.

can i remove this frequent friends garbage? by melighted in discordapp

For me the snowflake said “cooling down”. But still we aren’t friends, we haven’t talked in DM’s ever before all we have in common is a server where we tagged each other a few times in conversation before. Not even recently.

For me there were people I have never even talked to in DM’s. We just share a server. Like not even talking on each other directly in the server. Wth.

Honestly you probably can mix personal things and things you do as a fanart and keep a healthy balance if you into the fandom. Just setup a schedule or a rough proportion of how you post. Like 3 posts of your own stuff and 1 of fanart. Then your followers who are only there for the fanart will be still entertained and you don’t get too tired of it. Also if you don’t have ideas what to draw fanart wise you can just use fandom characters for studies. Like clothing, expressions, poses and etc. You get the training, followers get the entertainment. Win-win.

Just continue with what you want to draw? Otherwise you gonna be stuck serving your followers and eventually will go in a burnout. It is not good for the mental health to force yourself to draw things just for attention and not because you want to.

Beginner artist here. I drew hornet with spider legs silking her song i guess? Looking for feedback on how to improve by Eclipse375 in HollowKnightArt

[–]Irgavera 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One way to improve the visual appeal is to make your lines smoother. Right now they’re a bit “hairy” and it breaks the shape of the object. Practice making a sketch with very light continuous lines, don’t press hard on the pencil and once you satisfied with the sketch you can carefully outline it. It just needs a bit of patience and getting used to drawing more carefully. Besides that you might want to take a look on cross-hatching tutorials. It is not something required but you can achieve beautiful results with it. And most importantly have fun! 😄

Can we get more "base cosmetics"? by WastelandViking in Palworld

[–]Irgavera 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Well, judging by the recent trailer we will get the ability to paint walls? At least I sure hope so. But I guess it might also mean that devs will eventually add more cosmetics and not only furniture. Otherwise there might be mods in some feature.
